Grian's POV
Ding-Dong-Ding-Ding-Dong
That was the worst sound, well besides an alarm clock, to hear in the morning. Literally- the worst.

Grian never wanted to answer the door in the morning, since it was usually some letters to a party for his parents. But then again, they wouldn't be as mad as they were last night if he didn't get the mail. Grian got out of his bed, rubbing his eyes as he got out of the red sheets and stretched. He was still tired from the yelling he had heard from his drunk parents last night, like every night. Walking down the stairs, he had almost tripped and fell. Grian got downstairs to the first level and peeked through the little door hole using his tippy-toes. He opened the door, and waved to the mailman. The mailman tipped his hat to Grian as he left the property. But, somehow he had seen an owl as well flying through the cloudless blue sky.

Grian looked down at the first letter. It was like all the others. An invitation to another party. He looked at the second, and it was a bit, well... different from the ones he had usually gotten for his parents. This one had a red wax stamp, shaped as a circle with the word 'HOGWARTS' embroided on it. Grian looked for who it was addressed to, flipping the card over multiple times until he had found his name written in cursive. He was confused, who'd mail me? I don't even go to school. I've only taught myself. Hesitantly, he placed the party invitation on the smooth quartz counter, and ran back upstairs with the letter addressed to him.

Grian looked around his small bedroom. It was just the storage closet, but it was comfortable enough. The bed and a small bookshelf was the only things that he had, along with a few shelves along the wall and a window. He sat on his bed, quietly opening the letter he had been given. The letter was also written in cursive, but he could make out what it said.
