JIMIN POV

Later that evening...

The sun had just set when
Jimin pulled up to his rented brownstone and shifted the borrowed car into park.

Before he exited, he rested
there a moment, feeling
wearier than he could ever recall.

It was finally over, and now
his life could return to some semblance of normalcy though he wasn't sure he'd ever feel normal again.

His body was sore.

His soul was weary.

And all he wanted to do was
go back and live through it all over again.

He could still feel Jungkook's hands on him.

Jungkook's lips.

Jungkook's strong body
pinning him down.

A shiver raced up his spine
with a hint of need sparking
in his blood.

A few drops of rain landed on
his windshield.

It spurred him into action.

He jumped out of the car and grabbed his bags before a
deluge came.

As soon as he'd closed the
trunk, he saw he had visitors waiting on his stoop.

Eyeing Kai and Tae seated on
the steps, he knew the quiet evening at home he'd imagined was rapidly going up in smoke.

He came to a stop at the base
of the stairs and stared at the pair who were for once in close proximity and not arguing.

They were silent, appraising
him closely as if they could determine what had happened
in a single sweep of the gaze.

Kai drew in a deep breath
before frowning deeply, his
jaw setting into a firm line.

Finally, Tae jumped up and
raced down the three steps to wrap his arms around Jimin.

"Thanks the gods you're
home, I was so worried."

The loose droplets of rain started coming down a little harder.

"Can we go inside so I don't
end up like a drowned rat for
the second time in a week?"

Kai rose silently and let Jimin ascend.

He opened the door and felt the pair slip in behind him, carefully stepping over the piles of
mail awaiting his perusal.

He laid his bag on the bottom step of the staircase to the
right as his friends moved
into the living room.

He scooped up the mail, searching through it once collected, looking for
anything of importance.

Anything to stave off the questions he knew were coming.

"You don't have to ignore
us." Kai called across the room.

"I can smell another alpha
on you, Doesn't take a genius
to fill in the blanks."

Tense silence filled the space
as he lifted his head and
stared at Kai.

His attention then went
to a wide-eyed Tae.

"Jungkook?" Tae asked, his normally jubilant voice much lower and calmer in tone.

He didn't owe either of them
any explanation.

He was a grown man.

His love life was his own, yet he couldn't stop the torrent of words that had been circling through his mind the entire trip home.
