JIMIN POV
Jimin adjusted the tray and
bags of food in his hands as he exited the third-floor elevator.
He'd heard on the news that
Jeon Jih was rushed in and
was in the ICU on television.
After a few texts to Tae, he'd gotten some additional info.
The whole family was encamped in a waiting room, hoping the
old man pulled through
including Jungkook.
He followed the signs toward
the waiting area, hoping his being there wouldn't be too
out of place. As soon as he rounded one corner, he came face to face with his husband.
"You're here..."
Jimin's face heated.
He looked down at the tray.
"I thought you all might like some coffee and something to eat." He lifted his arms some.
"I brought a carafe, cups and assorted items. Along with
some donuts, bagels, and fruit."
"It's not much but I wanted
to help in some way."
Jungkook began taking some of the bags from him and smiled.
"I appreciate you coming."
"You didn't have to."
"You're my mate."
"These are the things we're supposed to do for one
another, right?"
Jungkook captured his stare.
"I don't know what are the
things we're supposed to do
for one another in a mating
on paper?"
Jimin froze, remaining silent.
"Sorry." Jungkook muttered.
"I didn't mean to be the one
to start an argument. I've had little sleep the last few days
and my patience is thin."
"I did kind of deserve that."
Jungkook chuckled.
Slowly, he lifted his stare back
to Jimin's.
They stood there a moment, not speaking, yet saying so much.
"Are you going to let him bring those in?" Tae cried from
inside the waiting room.
"Don't bogart the Star
Horton's coffee, Jungkook."
They both laughed at Tae and Jungkook moved to the side
to escort Jimin in.
Once they'd set everything up, Jungkook introduced him to a few cousins, other assorted family and friends.
"This is my... friend... Jimin."
Jimin tensed, unsure why he
felt saddened that Jungkook hadn't introduced him as more.
Mated on paper only.
"Friend?" Tae spoke up.
"I thought he was your husband?"
Many eyes turned in their direction.
"Which is it, Jungkook?" one
of the cousins asked.
Jungkook eyed Jimin a moment before looking out to them.
"Husband."
"He's my husband."
"When did this happen?" another cousin asked.
"Does this mean hoseok
is free?"
"Yes, Yoongi...He is all yours."
Yoongi jumped up, reaching for his phone as he exited the waiting room.
