YUKITARO

"Mom wait!" I cried as my mom marched away after our argument. At the doors to her throne room, she turned around. She stood upright, her flowing royal blue cape behind her. She had high cheekbones and Burnette hair tied in a rope-braided bun, her dazzling sapphire eyes glistened with angry tears.

"You will obey me and go to your quest. Preparations have already been made. Your sword has been polished. Go now, my son. Fulfill the duties you have been bestowed upon." She left without another word.

"Why am I the one who has to lead an army?" I raged. I was in my room with my seneschal. "You have the highest ranks in all tests. You are the only one who can create acid that does not harm us. It's obvious that your mother wants you to go to battle." exclaimed the seneschal. He helped me get my armor on. "You don't understand! I'm not 'leader material'." I argued. It was no use. Once he gets an order from my mom, he will obey her.

I got dressed and met my team: An army of 20 men, off to fight the Kumos, creatures with 8 legs and 7 feet tall (The size of 2 baseball bats stacked up on top of each other). These Kumos are attacking the old village. Unfortunately I, Yukitaro Keiko have to approach this conflict of nature.

I flexed my fingers and the room grew cold with my anger. There was a rustle among my men. They feared me because I am the prince of water tribes. And I know pretty cool tricks that can kill those who stand in my way. Now I had no choice but to go.

We galloped across the land on Koris ( horses made from ice). There were storm clouds that had moved overhead. The sky seemed to have its own conflicts. It cast shadows like angry faces across the green fields.

We appeared at the site of trouble: Kumos demolishing houses and causalities on the ground. My men surrounded the Kumos and started a wave-like movement with their hands. From the river banks closest to them, the water rose high. It curved over the Kumos. and with a jab of their hands, the water hit the wall of Kumos hard. They were knocked over, but it was not powerful enough to kill them. And that is where I come in.

I ran into them and jumped at a great height. Water streamed out of the river and followed the motion of my feet. It materialized into a disk and I rode it to the sky. I cupped my hands and water appeared in them. Within moments of concentration, the color of the water turned a murky green. I motioned my men to move back. They dragged all the citizens out of the way as I prepared my final attack. I spread the green water in the sky, a thin sheet of very powerful acid. The Kumos started to stir, that was my sign to end them. I let go of the acid. It fell on them: every drop pierced into its thick cephalothorax. They withered in pain and fell over. I gestured a huge wave and crashed it on them. They were taken away by the current of the river.

My men treated the injured with first aid. Watermen cannot heal. That is the job of nature. The operation 'defeat the Kumos' were over.

I relaxed, leaning onto a tree. The sky was still grey. I wondered what the conflict was. And with that thought, I saw a black figure fall with many following the same pattern. The ground rose near them and the black figure was gobbled by the ground. I shrugged. That must be normal I thought.

Just then, a water pixie appeared. That was the sign to return home. We were given food by the old. We then left the happy gramps in a tranquil village.
