YUKITARO

After the mission, we rode back to the castle. I was hesitant. I knew I would have another quarrel with mom. I let out a deep sigh. My men accompanied me into the throne room, where we would be acknowledged for what we'd done.

When we entered, a winged man was handing over a huge scroll to my mom. The dude had rippling biceps and a purple cape. His brown ivy league haircut transitioned to white and amber eyes. He seemed to be in his early 40s. As he saw me, he gave me a light smile. He nodded at my mom and took off through the window.

What does the guy want? What was the scroll? My mom looked like she wanted to talk to him a bit more. "Ah, the youngsters are back." She remarked with pride. She pinched my cheek so hard it turned pink. I blushed in embarrassment which just increased my pink cheeks to bright red.

"You all did well. I got a report saying just that. Every quest you accomplish, the royal treasury is being filled." After the last sentence, she looked a bit glum. But in an instant she sprung back into action. "your next quest will be assigned soon. Just stay alert for any messages." She announced. My men bowed and left me and my mom.

"Is there anything you need, honey pie?" Her happy eyes gleamed. "These quests don't seem all that important. Plus, They are too simple that I could handle them on my own." I stated. Mom looked vexed by the questions. "We are facing trouble in the future. The battle between the sky kingdom has started. You know what that means?" I did. The myth that seemed impossible to accomplish:

The sky kingdom will collide,

With then the ground will be turned to ashes.

Famine and drought will soon be bestowed

 Upon on those who do not concur;

Wise men beware of the consequences

Of the life of the one.

But to me, it seemed impossible. Of all the kingdoms, The sky is the calmest and most tranquil. Any kind of conflict will be solved in three days max. This is serious.

"That is why we need to do these quests. Each quest will bring more supporters and fill the treasury. We will need more armor and swords."

My mom turned to her throne. It used to be accompanied by my dad's throne. It was then taken down when he died. My mom looked depressed.

"Mom, I know this is the big deal but, I don't wanna do these boring quests. I want more action." I knew it was pointless: my dream of being an adventurer. "Son, of all the other days you could argue with me had to be today? Being part of the royal family is not easy-" She started " I NEVER ASKED TO BE PART OF THIS FAMILY! I JUST ASKED TO BE AN ADVENTURER FOR A DAY." I roared.

It was way louder than expected. My mom was taken aback. Her sapphire eyes brimming with tears. It started to overflow, just like my emotions. "WE ARE ALMOST AT WAR AND YOU WANNA JUST GO OUT ON ADVENTURES?" She yelled. I was too frustrated. I just ran out of the hall. My mom did not stop me.

I created a Kori (Yes. That is possible. Koris are made from shaped water.) I took off to the Northern forest at great speed. Nothing can stop me now.
