INOYA
We forged on ahead, weaving through the thick forests of people. Stalls sold all kinds of bits and bobs. But one stall caught my eye. a stall prospered with swords of gold, silver, and copper. Emeralds, rubies, and all types of rare stones were embedded on the sheaths.
The one that took my breath was the soft shimmer of the silver sword kept on display. Its hilt and sheath had sapphires implanted in them. Someone blocked my view. I decided to go back to Ishimi.
I saw someone who looked like Ishmi, but I was met with angry green eyes. "What are you following me for, huh?" His firm voice echoed through my bones. "I've mistaken you for someone else." I tried to sound confident. "Go follow someone else kid. And if you are lost..." His eyes widened. "Dont." I never knew anyone could ever throw more daggers than that. "Thanks for the warning." I whispered and bowed.
Ishimi mentioned that he was headed to the 'living space' so I roamed around the marketplace to find directions to the middle circle. When I reached there finally, A soldier stopped me. "Young lady, are you alone? Where are your guardians?" I had to come up with something quickly. "Im looking for a sunny hotel with an indoor pool system," I said in a posh tone. "Can you take off your coat, kind lady? It is for security purposes." "Well, the thing is, I cannot do such a thing. My skin is as fragile as tempered glass. The sun rays will spoil the years of hard work I did on them." My fake accent seemed to be working. "Alright ma'am," He sounded annoyed. "You may pass." He let me through the golden gates of the living quarters.
I had to find Ishimi but I did not know his intentions. I walked through the footpath of many hotels and apartments, the scorching afternoon sun was not helping.
I made my way through a dim alleyway. I sat, leaning on the wall, and regulated my breathing. I will find Ishimi and Yukitaro.
I felt the presence of someone. I glanced to see a person in casual wear with boots stained red. His facial expression was silhouetted but the sun. I felt his gaze upon me. I felt the urge to strike him down. "Hmm, White hair, blue and hazel heterochromia. It's you but that coat will reveal the last hint." His gruff voice boomed.
I knew my so-called 'speaking skills' would not work here. "Dont worry," he calmly crept towards me "Do not make this harder for both of us. You won't be harmed," He knelt and stared me dead in the eyes, and I looked away to find anywhere to run.
"You will be shot down if," He threatened. "you fight back." He hisses in my ear. He lifted my chin with his bony fingers and forced me to look back at him. His black eyes looked filled with mischief but were deflected by his equal savagery. His messy jet-black hair was styled into a wolf cut. His mouth curled into a grin.
"Why, such a sight should be confined and looked at forever." His persuading voice made me sleepy. "Come with me, my delicious maiden. Arrive at peace with me." He seized my left hand and ripped apart my brown coat, Exposing my enormous wings. "At last, Inoya Tomioka. I've finally found you. Come here, easy does it." his grip numbed my fingers, I had no clue what his element was, I could not attack him hastily. I had no choice but to follow him.
He let go after a while. "Follow me, princess. Your hands are..." He stopped to think. "What did he says bout your hands? Never mind that!" He hurried forward. I hindered my pace. We had a bit of a gap between us. I spun and sprinted with no sound. Something zoomed. I could not care about it, I had to keep away from that guy. My left shoulder burned with pain. I ignored it and kept my lightning speed. An arrow rocketed past me, missing my head by inches. An archer?
The burn in my left arm intensified. I saw something sticking up from it. A second needle pierced under the first one. I yelped in pain. I dodged the third.
I steered out from the alleyways into the blinding sun-filled streets. There was not a single soul out here. I looked at my bleeding shoulder. There must be some kind of poison on it.
My head throbbed in irritation, and my heart hammered with dread. He casually walked out and faced me, panting. "I haven't had this planned today. You are definitely not gonna make this easy, are you?"He did not sound annoyed, he was filled with pleasure.
"Those," He pointed to the needles "Has poison that will numb your body for days. Why did you make me use it?" He whined, "I wanted to take you unharmed, my maiden." Now he sounded vexed. "For days I've planned to capture you alive and healthy... now it's all down the drain." He complained.
I tugged my feathers, ready to pounce. Kill him the voice urged. I ran into him and slashed at his left arm. It slumped down to the floor, his eyes were overflowing with surprise.
Kill him it repeated. "This is truly amazing!" He exclaimed. I ran at him, wagging my blades around in all directions."Your feathers are the black swords just like he clarified. My, my, dear one." He charmed me as he dodged most of my raids. He made a finger gun with his right and whispered something. And each time he hissed, an arrow would shoot at me. One pierced me in the left wing. But I had no time to inspect it.
KILL HIM It squealed, and my head throbbed with frustration and fear of the voice. He closed his eyes for concentration to do a final attack but in that fraction of a second, I stuck my blade to his side, yelling loud. I managed to cut a deep gash on his side. But he punched me in the face before I could cut him clean.
I rolled onto the floor. My left leg felt heavy. I can no longer stand. KILL HIM. It screamed in my head deafening whatever he said from afar. He came to me, and with each step, blood stained his clothes and trickled onto the floor. He bent down, spilling more blood.
"Oh? Is the poison taking effect already? We did not play much now, did we? Hmm... You are as brave as he described. You have an intense thirst for blood. You will now be my maid, oh snow-haired one. Let me show you that your hair can be stained crimson forever." He sounded like a maniac. "Who are-" I started "Ah! that will be the mystery you have to solve if you don't die." he interrupted.
He got up with difficulty. He winced but tried his best not to show his pain. With the guy's feet, he rolled me over so that I faced the sky.
He made a finger gun and pointed it at my stomach "Bang." he breathed. A small, slick arrow struck my abdomen. I cried in agony. Everything got blurry.
I rolled to my right, away from him. Scarlet liquid did not stop gushing out of me. He laughed at my misery. "Do not die yet, princess. I've got to get myself some shade. I'll be with you soon." His footsteps sounded fainter indicating that he was going somewhere and leaving me to die by myself.
I moaned at my situation. I felt the poison creeping up. A few more minutes and my life will be over.
Alas, my body decides to give in. My eyes rolled into my head. I was curled on the floor, lifeless and leaking blood.
