So part 2 was highly requested...here ya go!

What did she do now?

Her dress caught onto the branches, tearing and pulling the fabric as she felt the branches continue to thrash against her, slashing her skin. The tears poured even harder, and she felt her legs give out as she fell to the ground, sitting on her hands and knees as she coughed violently, gasping for air as she looked up. The trees loomed over her, watching her silently as she begged for answers, begged for someone to hear her silent pleas.

She sat a moment, letting herself calm down as she replayed the previous events in her head, her breath hitching in her throat as she sniffled. She was a child of woe, born with tragedy in her blood. It seemed to loom in every aspect of her life, including her attempted romance side.

Sitting back in the cold, dewy leaves she looked up into the sky, the stars shining bright as they popped out at her, almost in a mocking manner.

She pulled her knees to her chest, and the silence beckoned to her as she found herself tearing up again, looking at her now ruined dress. If only she had thought through her actions, if only she had thought about things clearly instead of focusing on herself. No, for the sake of the case, she had to do what she had to do. It wasn't her fault...but it was.

Her eyes burned, and her throat felt hoarse as she stood up, wobbling slightly as she regained her balance. She turned in a circle, unsure where she was. She turned and went in the direction she came, wiping her cheeks with her dress as she stumbled through the darkness. The moon offered little light, but the trees did their best to misguide her, playing tricks on her mind. They reached out for her, tempting her in every which direction, as she trudged back through the brush she had so blindly, ran through.

It was supposed to be quick, it was supposed to be easy in and out for information. How could he not understand that? He knew that her investigation required her to talk to people and do whatever it took to solve it. Yet she had somehow failed, and she knew exactly what her fault had been. She stopped a moment, sliding off her shoes as she sighed deeply.

He was supposed to understand her stance and her reasoning. She thought he understood her algorithm, the way she ran things, and the way she perceived things. He had so proclaimed to her that he did, that she wasn't girlfriend material, yet he still persisted. She wondered if he only pretended to understand her, only followed along blindly because he simply liked her. She hadn't come here for boys, for romance, for any of this she had been dragged into. She had come for a simple education, and perhaps some extracurricular activities, but not for her heart to be broken multiple times by boys who couldn't understand her way of life.

She had a dark twisted nature, and people couldn't seem to grasp it was all about her all the time, but she had gone out of her way to attempt love, to attempt friendship. Yet everything she did turn out to be wrong, she had missed a step, her calculations were wrong, and she didn't look at it from a different perspective.

Maybe she was at fault, but she had tried to correct her mistakes, had tried to apologize to the boy, but no. He had gotten angry in return and had reacted rather violently toward her. She was frightened, and she didn't think of it in a pleasurable way. Somehow she felt a part of herself still hoping, whispering sweet little nothings, recalling the moments they had together. Their first date, the way he hugged her, his laugh. It all flooded back in, and she found herself drowning in the memories. It wasn't all about her anymore, she had truly tried to find a way to change.

The memories found their way down her cheek, one after another spilled across her skin as she recalled them, and they seemed to cleanse her as she let herself go. Her shoulders slumped as she continued forward, spotting the building she had just run from.
