"No Ajax- move a little to the left!" Enid squealed, and Ajax shifted over slightly as the werewolf looked on.
She had asked him to help her put fairy lights up around her side of the room, but she was beginning to regret asking him because he was extremely uncoordinated when it came to using a hammer and nails.
"Is that good E?"
"Just a step to the right."
The stoner took a small step to the right and clumsily lifted the hammer up, holding the nail to the wall, and was about to start hammering in the nail when Enid tugged lightly at his arm. He looked down, meeting her bright blue eyes as she frowned. He bashfully looked down, his arms drooping to his side as he furrowed his eyebrows.
"I'm sorry, but can we move over just a lil bit more? I wanna cover as much space so I don't have to go get more lights. Plus, I wanna make sure it's centered," she hesitated, and he softly sighed before climbing off the chair and moving it over a hair, and getting back on.
He would be lying if he said he wasn't getting tired of being shifted back and forth, back and forth, constantly being moved to the point he hadn't even gotten one nail hammered into the wall.
Ajax looked back at her, both tired and frustrated as she nodded and gave him a thumbs up, her eyes bright as she willed him to continue. He turned, holding the nail up and then slamming the hammer against it, but instead hit his thumb. He loudly gasped, dropping the hammer as Enid screamed and she rushed to his side.
"Are you okay?! Do we need to go to the nurse!? Let's go to the nurse-"
She carefully helped him down, hugging him as he wrapped his arms around her. He chuckled lightly, his eyes dancing with both pain and embarrassment as he hid in her shoulder.
"Enid, I'm fine. I just need ice and maybe after if it still hurts too bad to move it then I'll go," the stoner insisted, and she led him to her bed, kissing his thumb before sitting down beside him. She felt horrible, it was all her fault, and she hoped that he forgave her for her being so difficult. She chewed the inside of her cheek, slowly leaning her head onto his chest until she was laying against him.
"Okay, I'm gonna call Weds and tell her to bring ice," the blonde cooed, and she whipped out her phone and typed away, then put the phone to her ear.
"Weds, could you bring some ice? Not for me, for Ajax. He hurt himself- oh." Enid muttered, dropping the phone on the bed beside her as she rested her head against the gorgon's chest, and his eyes ran across her features, wildly grazing through the perfect view that lay in his arms.
"Is she gonna bring the ice?" Ajax inquired, and Enid nodded as she slowly began to close her eyes, her eyelids drooping, getting heavier and heavier with each breath.
"Mhm."
And just like that, the werewolf fell asleep in his arms, and soon her monochrome roommate entered the dorm, her eyes narrowing as she walked up to the pair.
"You continue to show me your weak spots, so now I know not to be worried if you ever pulled a hammer on me," the raven remarked, walking toward them as she held out a neatly packed ice pack.
"Okay? But why would I do that?" Ajax asked, confusion entering his tone as she looked down at him, her eyes flickering between the sleeping girl and the injured boy.
"I will not hesitate to make a flower pot from your cleaned scavenged skull if you continue to make dimwitted decisions like this one, or if you ever hurt her. There will be heavy repercussions, and there will also be no escape from my wrath," Wednesday threatened, and he nodded. She held out her hand, and she set his now darkly bruised finger as she carefully inspected it, her eyes analyzing the darkening finger as he winced at her touch.
"It isn't broken, merely bruised. You need to work on your coordination skills; perhaps you can join the archery club with Xavier and me and work on that," the raven remarked, walking across the dorm and grabbing the hammer as she stepped onto the chair. She looked back at him, and he was glaring at her before shaking his head, chuckling to himself.
"You're probably right, I guess I could use some practice. Not really my strong suit," he said bashfully, and she hummed a response as she hammered at the nail, then carefully lifted the light and draped it over the nail.
"She wanted this all around her side, correct?"
"Yeah."
Silently, the raven moved the chair around the room, placing the nail carefully and hammering it into the wall, placing the lights gently around the room before finally finishing, stepping off the chair, and admiring her work. The gorgon also admired from the bed, lifting his hand off of Enid's ears as he looked down at her, smiling before looking back up at her roommate.
Wednesday was watching, a light smirk finding its way on her lips as she crossed her arms, the hammer in her hand as she hesitantly stepped forward.
"Thank me later," she said softly, offering him a nod before walking out of the dorm, and he sat there with his eyebrows furrowed.
"AJAX YOU DID IT ALL FOR ME?!"
He looked down at his wide-eyed girlfriend, who quickly pulled herself out of his arms and bounced around the room, her eyes following the lightly decorated fairy lights around the room.
"Actually-"
"I LOVE IT!" She squealed, and she ran over and jumped on top of him, giving him a big hug as he tried to ignore the throbbing ache in his finger, but it was easily ignored as he realized now what the raven had meant.
He smiled, giving Enid small kisses as she beamed at him.
"I'm glad."
