OKAY so hopefully this is more angsty than previous chapters...highly requested.

(also the arrow hit her in the chest region, proving slightly more fatal than the shoulder.)

The arrow penetrated through her skin, and she felt the pain shoot through her body as the blood began to pour out of her body, slowly beginning to trickle down her clothes as she tried to ignore the fact she was now laying on the ground. She groaned in pain, her hand making its way to the arrow as she tried to sit up, to regain her ground but quickly fell back, the movement shooting ripples of pain through her veins as she bit her tongue.

Xavier ran to her, abandoning the bow as he swiftly lifted her into his arms, holding the bleeding girl as he rested his hand on her chin, turning her head to look at him as he frantically searched her eyes. Her vision began to blur as little black spots started to crowd her vision, and she could only see pieces of him as she slowly lifted her hand to touch his cheek.

"Wednesday, please don't move, I got you! Keep your eyes open!" He shouted, but it was nothing but a faint echo to her. Everything began to settle around her, the pilgrim watching the encounter, the dancing flames that surrounded them, the dirt that was now stained with her crimson blood. She wanted to say something but the pain riveted through her thoughts, and she could only manage a small nod as he swiftly lifted her into his arms, bridal style. With the last bit of her vision, she admired the boy, the soft glow from the fire highlighting his features. If she wanted to see one last thing before she gave in to the black nothingness that awaited her, it would be him.

He began to run towards the forest, but something jabbed him in the back, causing him to fall forward as he did his best to keep the raven in his arms from slamming into the ground with him. She rolled slightly from his grasp, coughing as blood seeped from her lips, her eyes fluttering as her pale hand made its way to the arrow, holding it as she clenched her teeth. This wasn't what she had planned, she had taken a blow before, but now she didn't have an ancient ancestor to save her from death. She tried to sit up, positioning her arm under her as she gasped for air, trying to cling onto the last bit of breath that lingered in her lungs.

Xavier rolled onto his back to see what had hit him and found himself now looking up at Joseph Crackstone.

"It's a shame, that you weren't able to save her. Now you shall perish with her for standing in my way!"

The old man lifted up his staff, preparing to slam it down on Xavier before something pierced through his back, and he crumpled to the ground as he began to disintegrate before his eyes, and he shuffled back as he looked up at Bianca.

"Guess I hit my target," she huffed, and Xavier quickly scrambled to his feet he turned to the monochrome girl, who was gasping for air as he brought her into his body.

"Call the ambulance now!" He shouted, holding her once more as he lifted her up, carrying her out and into the woods as she started to slowly breathe, but the blood seeped through her clothes and onto his, and he could feel the warmness sticking to his skin.

He set her down on the grass, frantically trying to figure out what to do as more blood drained from her petite body, her face paling as she looked up at him, her eyes fluttering as her lips were slightly parted, dried blood resting on her chin.

"Wednesday, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for this to happen, I was just trying to help you please stay awake, help is on the way," he whispered, quickly trying to apply pressure to her already blood-soaked shirt, but she gently laid her hands on his, hissing in pain.

"X-Xavier?" She stuttered, her throat feeling scratchy as she gasped for a breath, doing her best to keep her eyes open as she looked at the boy. It was getting hard to breathe, hard to see, hard to hear anything around her, but she felt his presence, his warm hands, and his pleading voice. He waited, and she slowly continued as she felt the energy begin to wane, and her eyes felt droopier than seconds before.
