ASH'S POV
Every thing looked so familiar. Like a dejavu... as I stood right in the middle of an enchanted forest. The fresh and pure foliage captivated the unknown land. The same metallic tinking of the flowing stream gave life to a beautiful symphony along with the freely wandering cool breeze. The dangling carotenoid leaves of the vintage trees gladly applauded along, as if they were waiting for someone else to join too in the melody.
And then she joined them... putting an end to the awaited moment. At first it was hushed humming... slow and steady.... like the ones woven by the angels, like the ones that floats only in the land of paradise....soft and blithesome. But there were faint melancholic hues tied up to it's tone, so faint but surprisingly audible enough for me.
Without my awareness, my legs already started to move all by its own towars the melodic voice, like a pied piper drawing me into its traps. I ran through the webways created by the massive roots of the enormous trees, tangled and twisted on the surface, stumbling me, but the stubborn me didn't let them slow down my pace. I ran through the coils of vapour mists that blinked my vision.
I won't stop. I won't. I can't.
As I knew that she was here. She-she is here... That it was her .. it has been always her...
I ran and ran and ran... until I turned breathless, until my legs couldn't take it anymore. Each step reviving the melody clearly and clearer to my senses, each step bringing me closer and closer to the heavenly aroma which drew me crazy like always....as if my personal drug that I don't want to share with anyone else, wanting me to seize it inside my system forever so that only I could breath it till my body turns into dust one day. But this time, it was also accompanied by another distinct smell, an unpleasant one, as if something got burned or died.. decayed? But it was too faint infront of the other one that seem to overpower the whole forest with its essence.
I kneeled down, supporting my palms on the green blanket laid on the ground as I tried to catch my breath. Suddenly the devine harmony seems to stop. I raised my head and looked forward. And there she was.... at the gateway of the towering woods that gave shelter to the impenetrable darkness. This time she didn't even have the antique lamp in her hand to lighten up her pathway as she decided to stay in the shadows secretively, though she knew that I knew...
In spite of the heaviness that was burdening down on my head, I still attempted to fight it as I tried to stand up from the ground, but my legs gave up easily. I tried again and again but all went in vain. Beads of sweat started to trickle down from temples to the mossy carpet, salting their purity.
"Stop" she uttered.
I heard. I did. But I didn't follow.
"I said STOP" she commanded firmly this time, something which was new to me about her.
And I obeyed.
Calming my messed up heart I glanced at her vague figure.
"But.. you will leave.. you will leave again."
"I won't"
"You will, you always did!"
"Not this time." She assured.
"What if you did...?" Unassured, I asked with anticipation. I wanted to trust her, but what if she deceive me once again? Leaving me without any answers?
"I won't. I-I promise. She promise."
"S-sure?"
"Mm." She hummed softly, softly enough to soothe my heart.
