My heart sank again reading the page I was reading. This time, I was at home on my couch instead of standing in the middle of the office floor. Rumors are one thing. Rumors that aren't actually rumors are another. It was something I never thought I'd see in front of me. So much so that I felt like I was in a different world. I remember the feeling of the stares and whispers growing harder. I thought, "what if this is all a figment of my imagination?"

Aaliyah sat next to me, pondering."Well, you got three options: confirm, deny, or ignore. Which one do you think will be best for you?" She questioned. I gave it some thought. Ignoring the obvious would be a good idea. Confirming that he and I had a "potential romance" would be a stretch and denying it would be one also.

However...

Not confirming or denying the rumors would be so bad either. A grin slowly appeared over my face, "What If I let people think that we were in a relationship?"
She looked at me confused. " Why would she want to do anything like that?" she said. "You always hear people say that all publicity is good publicity. As a contributor to Serenity 4, it could help promote them."
If there were ever a moment when a lightbulb could pop over my head, this was it.

"Look Ananda. I'm not trying to be rude or anything but whatever you got going on in your personal life has nothing to do with my girl group. I know you wanna help, but I'd appreciate it if you would sway that drama towards somewhere else."

" You know what? Suit yourself." I told her walking towards the kitchen, "But make sure that they're ready for Friday. MTV wants a debut performance of their first single." They actually had two weeks to prepare but I wanted them to work harder and faster.

"First single? We don't have a first rehearsal. We don't even have a record deal!" Aaliyah exclaimed hopping off the couch.

I felt a vibration from my cell phone in my side pocket. I flipped it open to see a message from Marshall:

Ayo, r u busy? We need to talk. ASAP

My heart jumped. I placed my fingers on the dial pad and quickly responded

No I'm not. We can can talk..where are you?

I got a response back almost immediately

I'm back in Detroit. I saw the article. Call me
