Two weeks later

Maybe he's just busy.

The four words just repeated over and over again in my head for fourteen days straight so I could just start to believe it involuntarily. He has my number.. Why hasn't he called me to tell me how great the sex was? Hell,at least a "hey... I'm not really feeling you like that''  would be nice. I just wanna know where we stand.

But maybe I'm in over my head. Maybe I'm not built for casual sex. Certain things take certain people to do them and certain emotions.. or lack thereof.  Sex to some people is nothing more than getting off. No emotions towards the other person and it's just a simple touch and go. For others, it's not only a physical connection but could be spiritual even. They catch feelings for the other person and while exploring their body, they want to explore the idea of companionship also.

Which category did I fall under?

Neither.

It wasn't a touch and go situation and I sure as hell wasn't catching feels. It was more like a hit and run. I guess the only thing I was grateful for was getting my period three days later.

"Ananda? I asked you about the new Celebrity Deathmatch logo?"I snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of Nick's voice. . It was a late night at the workplace and we were the only two in my office building  Outside the window next to my computer, a full moon hung over the city so beautifully, almost competing with the panel lights above my head. Nights like this were for drinking wine and listening to old mellow records with friends... Not worrying about someone else.

"Silver and black or Silver and cloud Gray?"
He hovered over me from behind and placed two designs in front of me on my computer keyboard.  My eyes shuffled between the two pictures for a few seconds. "The gray one. "

He nodded, taking the photos back but then turning around with a cocked eyebrow. "Is everything ok? What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I shook my head, knowing damn well I was lying. "Why do you ask?"

"I don't know... For the last few days, you've been acting a little.. off. " He picked up. I knew he would because usually we talk everyday and tell eachother everything...but I guess I've been a bit distant lately, focusing on the stressful and draining launch of my talk show set for next year and accepting the fact that I might be getting ghosted.

"Well I'm good, just a little tired." I lied again."That's for asking though. I gotta finish this transcript by tomorrow. I'm set to guest host the TRL countdown soon. After this I'm gone.." I yawned, getting up to stretch and sitting back down at my computer desk. Then I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

Finally.... Excitement bursted inside me for a second until I realized the message wasn't from him.

Bestfriend: I'm at your house.. Where are you??? Don't think I'm crazy for pulling up but you gave me a key and i'm psyched about some new ideas! Come home ASAP

Damnit... Why she gotta text me at work.

me: I'm at the office..i thought I told you?. almost done with my transcript so I'll home in a few minutes

I felt a presence lingering over me while I responded to Aaliyah. I looked up to see Nick's face. "Do you mind?" I asked with my thumb on my dialpad. Usually he isn't like this..

"What?" He replied, dumbfounded.

"Hanging over me and reading my messages."

"Actually, I was looking at the time. " He pointed to the corner of my computer screen. The time read 8:52 PM which meant the both of us had been here for over twelve hours.I didn't realize we've been here for that long.
