____July 12, 1929____

The dark streets of Revilla were ominous while British Regulars patrolled through the city.

The window of his cell could only give him a false sense of hope while rumors of a revolution spread between the inmates and British regulars.

He could only sigh knowing that his novels ignited the spark of nationalism that gave rise to the idea of revolution.

"Doctor Rizal," he heard a man call out to him as he looked towards his cell door.

"Cody!?" He said in surprise while he went to his cell door to see if he wasn't dreaming.

"The others have joined me... We're getting you out of here," he said before he looked at him in disbelief and shock.

"If I get out of here... It won't be by escaping," Zak said while it was Cody's turn to be shocked.

"Now is not the time to respect the law... The regulars don't even know our rights!" Cody whispered angrily while Zak could only look down at the floor.

"If these are the reasons of our society... It would cause a mess, that would slowly cause blood to be drawn," he reasoned while Cody could only sigh.

"Even if we want it or not... Blood will be drawn," Cody said while they heard a door crack open Cody suddenly looked behind himself, drawing out his knife quickly. Only being held back by Rizal's hand.

"Just go already Cody... You'll only get hurt," Zak said while Cody could only look down at the knife

"But if you stay... What about the fight you started?" Cody asked while he could only shake his head.

"They might be able to destroy my body... But they won't destroy the legacy I have created with me passing my torch to you," Zak said as he passed a piece of paper to him.

"Continue the fight that I've started... We've started..." Cody looked at the paper that was given to him. It was Rizal's Identification papers, all torn up.

"You need to go," Zak said while Cody could only give him a pleading look. Silently begging him to join them in escape one more time.

"Just go already Cody!" Zak said sternly as Cody could only pat his friend and hero one more time on the back.

"I hope I see you in the next life, my friend," Cody said as he quickly got up and placed on his hat. Quickly getting out of the room, leaving him to the dead silence of the cell once more.

"I'll see you in the next life too old friend..."

___________

"Wake up!" A British regular kicked him in the stomach as he woke up from the pain. He was suddenly grabbed by his arms and dragged outside of the cell.

"Where are you bringing me?" He asked while the regulars continued dragging him.

"Dr. Zakriel Rizal, you are hereby sentenced to execution for the count of treason as commanded by the Governor," The redcoat said while he gave a grim look, knowing that this day was bound to happen.

______________

He was given the chance to deny everything that he had stated. Everything from his novels to the statements he made in newspaper articles and meetings.

"I apologize Governor but what I have stated is the truth and if you remain blind to the truth and everything the Empire you serve has done... Then I pity you and all the officials and soldiers that serve under them," he said as the governor punched him in anger.

"I gave you the chance Rizal, such a shame that a bright minded Revillian like you wasted all their time speaking like a madman," The Governor said while Zak could only look at him and spat his boots. The Governor could only glare while he gave a sardonic smile.

"If it means I'll die for a noble cause then I ain't taking any offer you're going to give me you Imperial piece of crap!" The Governor having enough of Rizal called the Regulars to bring him to his execution ground.

_____________

"For treason against the Empire and spreading of revolutionary sentiment, Zakriel Jonah Patricio Rizal, you'll be executed through firing squad," The executioner said while he was pushed in front of a squad of Regulars.

Many men and women gathered to view what was happening.

"Any last words," The Executioner said tauntingly while he could only look at the people, knowing that the news of his death would shatter any hope for diplomacy.

Drums started to play, building up to his final moments.

"At my count, you may open fire!" The Executioner shouted while the muskets were already aimed at him.

"Ready!" He could only hope that the rumors were true. That freedom and Independence would be granted to them.

"Aim!" All his life he dedicated himself to them gaining their independence. He has done his best to push for independence without any blood spilled.

"Fire!" The Officer shouted while he could only close his eyes and whisper.

"Consummatum Est,"
