after english had finished, aurora managed to find her locker and with her amazing luck it was right in between scott and stiles'.

scott sent her a warm smile as she opened her locker, she gave him a soft nod and put some of her books into the locker. the girl paused for a moment when she smelt something familiar, confusion covered her face it was a werewolf scent. rory looked around but the only person closest to her was scott.

she sent a quick text to derek telling him that there was an argent in her english class and that she could smell a werewolf. he still hadn't got back to her. classic derek. she thought.

rory let out a puff of air and shut her locker to find stiles and scott looking at her. "do you two have some sort of staring problem?" she asked, pulling the strap of her bag further onto her shoulder.

the teenage boys quickly looked away, and then scott's gaze was on allison. aurora looked at the argent girl with confusion, she seemed sweet and kind and nothing like the hunters derek told her about and the ones she had encountered.

"can someone tell me how new girl is here all of five minutes, and she's already hanging out with lydia's clique?" a girl asked scott and stiles.

"because she's hot." stiles simply answered. "beautiful people herd together." he added.

aurora scoffed at the boy, making him look past scott and at the girl. "aurora you could probably hang out with them if you were a bit nicer."

"i'd rather rip my throat out, thanks for the compliment though stiles." she sarcastically replied, then began walking through the hallway.

"it wasn't a compliment!" she heard stiles yell.

annoyingly, this caught lydia's attention. "hey!" the strawberry blonde said to aurora, who looked at her funny.

"yes?" aurora replied bluntly.

"you look like fun, there's a party this weekend, you should come." lydia smiled at the girl.

"uh... i'm good." aurora answered, she tried to hold in her laugh when lydia looked very offended. "bye." rory muttered, walking away.

...

rory had found her way to the lacrosse field, she had no interest in joining the team she just had a free period, and what better way to spend it than watching people get hurt?

aurora watched as scott looked extremely clueless standing in the goal, but as the whistle blew scott looked like he was in pain from the sound. the first person sent the ball right into his face, thankfully scott was wearing a helmet, but as other people began taking their shots scott was catching them all with the lacrosse stick.

aurora's eyes widened, scott was really good but there was something about him that rory thought was weird. another player rory had recognised from when lydia spoke to her seemed pretty pissed, he ran in the direction of the goal and took a powerful shot and yet again, scott saved it, making people in the small crowd cheer.

"yeah!" stiles shouted in excitement. "that's my friend!"

...

the school day had finally ended and derek had picked aurora up from school.

"derek i'm telling you this kid is a werewolf, his names scott." aurora explained. "but i don't think he actually knows."

"what do you mean?" derek asked as they pulled up to their old home that was surrounded by ash, the whole house was basically black.

"he just seemed clueless, like he only just knew he was a werewolf." rory told him.

the two siblings got out of derek's car and looked over at their house, suddenly derek looked down at rory.

"what?" she asked.

"i think you were right." he muttered to her. "that kid is on the property."

"i'm always right." rory shrugged with a laugh.

"come on." derek said, as he dragged rory into the woods.

"i can walk myself, thank you." rory grumbled, pulling her arm out of derek's grip.

derek shushed his sister when he saw scott and stiles. when the two had their backs turned the siblings walked closer to them and stood waiting for scott and stiles to see them.

"oh." rory heard stiles mutter, who then smacked scott on the back.

the two boys looked at rory and derek. the sibling walked closer to the boys.

"what are you two doing here?" aurora asked, her arms folded across her chest.

"aurora?" stiles asked in confusion.

"don't make her ask twice, what are you doing here?" derek asked sternly, frightening the boys a little. "huh?"

scott and stiles stayed silent. "this is private property." derek spoke again.

"uh, sorry, man, we didn't know." stiles answered, putting his hands on his hips awkwardly.

"yeah, we were just looking for something, but..." scott paused, derek raised his eyebrows at the boy. "uh, forget it."

aurora swiftly threw scott his inhaler, derek had told her to pick it up and give it to scott when they found them.

derek and aurora turned around and began walking back to the house.

"dude, that was derek hale. i knew aurora was a hale but they're siblings!" rory heard stiles say to scott. "you remember, right? he's only a few years older than us."

"remember what?" scott asked.

"their family. they all burned to death in a fire like, ten years ago." stiles replied.

"i wonder what they're doing back." scott wondered, looking at where aurora and derek were just standing.
