the next morning, derek and aurora went back to their house, but not long after the police arrived.

"hey, what the hell!" aurora stepped in front of the police officer who tried arresting derek "he didn't do anything."

"half of a body on his property tells us different kid." the sheriff spoke.

derek stayed silent sending his sister a look of warning for her to not do anything stupid.

"please, he didn't do it." aurora begged the older man.

"if you can tell me who did then he can go." the sheriff looked at her waiting for an answer, but when she didn't give him one, they began to take derek away.

"what about me? what am i supposed to do?" aurora asked as tears formed in her eyes.

"i'll catch up with you at the school, you know my son right?" he asked, aurora looked at the man confused. "stiles?"

aurora rolled her eyes. "what about him?"

"just stay with him, i'll make sure he looks after you while we sort some kind of living arrangement out for you, considering you are still a minor." the sheriff finished, giving the deputy a nod to take derek away.

aurora followed the sheriff and deputy out the burnt door.

"i'll be fine, ro. love you." derek spoke to his little sister, giving her the name he hadn't called her since she was a child.

"love you too." she whispered, trying to stop the tears from coming out of her eyes.

she noticed scott and stiles outside the house. the two boys sending her looks of sympathy as derek was taken away. her only family member left. gone.

she watched stiles sneakily walk over to the cop car derek was in, she cocked her head sideways, looking over at scott again.

"i'm sorry." he whispered, knowing she would hear.

she just gave him a sad smile and watched stiles' dad drag him out of the police car and give him a scolding. aurora walked up to the two boys, her hands on her hips.

"considering you just got my brother arrested, would you mind driving me to my apartment? i need to get my car." she asked.

"why don't you take derek's?" stiles asked, copying her actions.

aurora drew in a deep breath. "please."

scott and stiles looked at each other.

"fine. but if you kill us, i'll haunt you for the rest of your life." stiles squinted his eyes at the girl.

"if i wanted to kill you i'd do it right now."

"was that a threat?" stiles asked, acting tough like he was the werewolf.

"did it sound like a compliment, stilinski?" she flashed her blue eyes at him, and then got into his jeep.

aurora had told stiles where she lived and he pulled into the small parking lot.

"i'll see you boys at the game tonight." she winked.

"still can't believe coach let her on the team." stiles shook his head, watching aurora go up into her apartment.

scott shrugged. "she's really good." he watched as stiles didn't take his eyes off of her until she was inside. "why did you have to watch her go into her apartment?" scott asked.

"just making sure she doesn't throw herself out a window because she has no more family." stiles simply replied. "you never know." he added seeing scott's look of shock.

...

aurora stood in front of her mirror, her lacrosse bag in hand, wiping away the tears that fell after scott and stiles had dropped her off. she clenched her jaw tightly, grabbed her keys from the kitchen counter, and left the apartment.

as she was about to get into her car, she felt eyes on her but as she looked around she couldn't see anyone around her, she couldn't sense or hear anyone either. aurora shook it off as her imagination and got into her car and drove to the school.

...

when aurora arrived at the school, the parking lot was almost full. she watched from her car as people walked over to the lacrosse field.

"what am i doing." she muttered to herself, her head resting on her steering wheel.

her car door opened, and she jumped seeing scott and stiles. "come on." scott smiled.

"i honestly don't think this is a good idea." she spoke quietly. "also scare me like that again and i'll kill you both."

"we're gonna need you tonight if scott loses control." stiles told her.

"derek warned you, scott." aurora shrugged. "i can't stop you but you killing someone will. trust me."

"come on, rory. please." scott begged.

"rory?" she asked. "where did that come from?"

"i feel bad?" scott questioned.

"the game will be starting soon." stiles reminded the two.

"i can't believe i'm doing this." aurora muttered to herself, grabbing her lacrosse bag and walking next to stiles.

...

the three walked onto the field, all in their lacrosse gear, scott got stopped abruptly by lydia, stiles and auora quickly glanced at each other walking to the benches.

"hale!" aurora heard coach shout.

"yes?" she asked, shouting back, instead of walking over to the man.

coach shook his head and walked over to her. "when i shout your name, you come to me."

"so i'm a dog?" she asked, she heard stiles let out a laugh and slapped him on the arm.

"no, but anyway!" coach shouted. "you will be on the bench for the first thirty minutes of the game."

"okay." she happily replied, sitting down on the bench next to stiles.

"if he loses control, i'll blame you." stiles looked at aurora. "derek stressed him out."

"well, maybe, scott should have listened to derek instead of getting him arrested." aurora growled at the boy.

"you know what aurora, you are-" stiles was interrupted by his father coming up behind him.

"hey, kid." the man spoke. "hello, aurora, i didn't know you were on the team."

"hm, joined when i moved her." she gave the man a tight-lipped smile.

"so, you think you'll see any action tonight?" mr stilinski asked his son.

stiles tensed up, glancing at aurora, who seemed to be in her own head. "action?" he asked. "maybe."
