"what do you mean you threatened to kill him?!" aurora yelled at derek. "i make friends like you ask me to and you threaten to kill him."

"why are you arguing with me over this, rory?" derek rolled his eyes, a scowl on his face. "you know that he could kill someone right?" he asked.

"yes, i know." aurora put her head down, looking at her feet.

"scott isn't like me and you, rory. he doesn't know what he's doing, i need him to trust us, or at least you." derek told his little sister.

"seems like scott's your number one priority now, so why do i even have to be here?" aurora scoffed, acting as if her heart didn't hurt.

"you're my number one priority, rory. you're my little sister and you're my responsibility." derek softly said, pulling aurora into a hug. "love you."

"shut up being all sappy, it's not a good look." aurora joked, letting out a laugh.

scott and stiles didn't wait for aurora like they usually did in a morning, the girl wanted to act as if it was fine and keep her tough exterior.

she walked the halls of the school, head looking forward not paying attention to anyone or anything around her.

someone bumped into her. "watch where you're going!" the girl squealed out.

aurora looked at the girl. "sorry."

"i know you." the girl said. "you came to my party with the weird boy with a buzzcut."

"i mean, yeah but i wasn't with him." she said slowly. "im sorry, who are you?"

the girl with strawberry blonde hairs eyebrows shot up, she gave aurora a look and scoffed. "i'm lydia. lydia martin?"

"doesn't ring a bell." aurora shrugged, walking away from the girl.

...

aurora was currently sat in the back corner of her maths class, watching scott and lydia (the girl who was shocked aurora didn't know who she was) solve maths problems.

she felt stiles' gaze on her. aurora huffed. "what is it, stiles?" she whispered. "i'm sorry derek threatened scott last night, i'll actually have you know i had nothing to do with it for once. i actually had an argument with derek about it because i don't appreciate him threatening my new and only friends." she spoke so quickly stiles could barely hear a word she was saying.

"um..."

"so please, can you and scott stop ignoring me?" she asked.

"why? does it make you sad having no friends?" stiles asked, taunting aurora.

"you're an ass, stilinski." aurora rolled her eyes, sending a snarky look to the boy. "last time i checked, wasn't scott your only friend?"

stiles stayed silent, his eyes fixated on the front of the class.

...

aurora and scott were just closing up their lockers as stiles grabbed the two dragging them to a wall. "come here."

"what?" scott groaned.

"stilinski, touch me like that again, and i'll rip your throat out... with my teeth." aurora threatened the boy.

his eyes went wide. "sorry." he paused. "anyway! tell me what they're saying."

"scott, it's your turn." aurora told the boy crossing her arms.

scott groaned, looking over at the sheriff and their school's principal. "can you hear them?" stiles asked eagerly.

scott shushed the boy, he was silent for a few moments. "curfew because of the body."

"this doesn't affect me in the slightest. derek already has me on a curfew because of the hunters." aurora rolled her eyes.

"seriously?" scott asked. "should i be on a curfew too?"

"eh, maybe. the hunters just aren't very happy with me and derek anyway." she awkwardly smiled.

"because of your eyes right?" stiles asked. "they're different to scott's"

aurora nodded, feeling nervous they'd ask why.

"a curfew though? unbelievable! my dad's out looking for a rabid animal while the jerk off who actually killed the girl is just hanging out doing whatever he wants." stiles complained.

"you can't exactly tell your dad the truth about derek." scott shrugged.

aurora almost stumbled. "i'm sorry. what?! you think it's derek? you think i'd still be living with him if he purposefully killed someone?" a hurt look took over her face. "you both think that low of me?"

the boys stayed silent making aurora scoff. "wow... okay." she shook her head, walking away from the two.

"aurora, wait." she heard stiles shout out to her, but she was already out the door.

aurora left the school in her car and headed for her old house. as soon as she stepped onto the porch all the memories came flooding back.

"rory!" a young cora cried out. "where are you?!" she shouted again, coughing harshly afterwards.

"cora?" young aurora cried. "i can't see anything." she sobbed, the fire touching and burning her skin.

"rory?" derek walked up behind her. "why are you here?"

aurora sniffed the air. "is that... laura?"
