Together In The Mines

"Out to the mines?" Sebastian asked.

"You're out early. You doing okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I found a good time to take a break so I am. What're you going to look for in the mines?"

"I don't have anything in mind. Just whatever looks cool." I replied. Going to the mines is pretty calming, besides the bugs.

"I don't think I have to be back for a while. Mind if I join you?"

"Not at all." I said back smiling. It'll be nice to have the company.

Sebastian starts heading over in my direction. We crossed the bridge and entered the mines.

"Are we taking the ladders or the elevator?" Sebastian asked me. He closely following me.

"Elevator. I was thinking since it's summer we could go a bit further down into the colder sections. Around level forty I think."

"Okay, sounds good. Lead the way." And so I do.

We made it down to level forty. We exit the elevator and start exploring. A few geodes here and there but nothing too crazy. That was, until I found whatever this is. It's small, blue, shiny and just really cold. But I like it, so I showed Sebastian.

"Check this out." I walked up and told him while holding out my hand.

"No way. I love these!"

"Really? I'm not sure what it is, it just looks cool." I said.

"I call them frozen tears because that's what they look like."

"Yeah, that makes sense. You've seen these before though?"

"The guy from the guild across the lake used to come down here a lot, once he actually opened his guild I walked in and there was just one sitting the counter. It was slightly melted but I've been fascinated by them ever since." He explained. He seemed so excited talking about this. It's interesting.

"I see.." I handed over the tear.

"What're you doing?" He asked.

"For you. You seem really excited talking about this and I don't think I have too much of a use for it so have it. It'll do you much better."

"Thank you." He smiled.

After not much longer I start feeling tired. Sebastian is sitting down. I suggest we go back to the surface.

"Probably should. I think I have to get back to work. Thank you for letting me join you. It was nice."

"Of course, I like your company."

"You did?" He questioned.

"Well, yeah. You're easy to talk to and interesting and I'm usually working around on my own so it can get lonely. It's nice having somebody here."

"I'm interesting?"

"Yeah. You like comic books, your bike, the thing I picked up earlier. I think that's a decent variety. It makes you interesting."

"I see, would you like to start heading back up now?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm getting tired and a little hungry."

"I think my mom said she was making Sashimi if you'd like to join?" Sebastian offered.

"I would like that. Thank you."
