A tall man, just having his bad day. He lose his case once again. This world is not fair at all. Why, why does the innocent one get all the blamed for the things that they didn't do at all? That's what he thought. He look outside his office window. It's raining heavily. Pity them who's walking outside right now. Even umbrella could not handle this kind of rain.
He tap his pen a few times on the table. Hiromi feels hungry and he wants to eat some freshly baked bread. Lucky for him, as the next store is a bakery that sell variation of bread. The most important part is, it's freshly baked. The smell, make him want to eat everything in the bakery. That's what he thought.
Hiromi grab his umbrella. This heavy rain is nothing against his urge to get some bread. Hence, he exit his office after taking everything that is important. Hiromi lock the door before he walks towards the bakery. Inside, he put down the umbrella and put it at the umbrella stand. Hiromi is going to pick his favourite bread, some of other breads that looks tasty and pay. He will eat his favourite bread at his office though.
"Thank you for coming again, Higuruma. It's raining heavily outside, wasn't it?" A woman with brown hair and black eyes smile for Hiromi. Hiromi simply nod. As he already paid for his breads, he as well gonna eat it right now. Thank goodness, there's no one else in the bakery so he could eat it at the counter right after the payment. He saved his best-loved bread for later, in his office.
"Yeah, it is." As usual, simple answer. The woman, Aria smile upon the answer. She already used to Hiromi's antics. He must be tired from work, and just want to enjoy her breads. She let him be, before start to adjust a few things.
Just then, he could see a silhouette running across the bakery. Even Aria was surprised. Maybe, she could see that too? Hiromi put his bread backs to it's paper bag, before he take initiative to look outside. Maybe, something happened? Yup, that would explain everything. He then take his umbrella, before exit the bakery.
He looks around. Nothing suspicious. It's quite late in the evening, and not many people should be walking on the road. But yeah, Hiromi surprised by a figure- a woman passed out right in front of his office door. She's all wet, like she's running away from something. She does not even possess any umbrella or anything. It's just like she exit her house with just that outfit.
She's wearing a long sleeve of blue dress that has slit on her left thigh. Also, it's off shoulder. As she looks pale and cold, Hiromi decided that he should bring her inside his office. It's the nearest place where she passed out though. Judging by face and appearance, she might not be older than 25 years old. Hiromi searched for his keys and unlocked the door.
He then put her on a couch. As he could find his blanket resting on the chair, he grab it before cover the woman with it. Rush, he headed towards the bakery back. Aria looks surprised when Hiromi came back. He looks serious. She gulped.
"What's wrong, Higuruma?" Aria asked.
Hiromi gulped.
"There's a woman passed out in front of my office. Could you, check her for me? She's all wet from the rain." He stated. Aria nod. As she live at the upper floor, it's easier for her to get some fresh clothes.
Lucky again, her bakery are close for the day. Hiromi is waiting for Aria, as he didn't want her to get wet or something. So, in a few minutes, Aria came down with a set of clothes and towel in her tote bag. Hiromi waits for Aria to lock her bakery, before the two rushed towards his office. As it's still raining heavily, the two could see clearly that the woman in shivering. Perhaps, she's cold.
Hiromi let Aria to take care of the stranger. He led the two to his another room upstairs. A guest room. Thank goodness it's clean, but dust are almost everywhere. Hiromi carry the woman inside the room, before he put her on the bed. He bid farewell, before left Aria changed the woman. As for precaution, Hiromi call one of his private doctor to do some check up. He might arrived in 20 minutes. Or maybe, late than that.
Around 30 minutes later, Aria came down. She looks tired, so Hiromi pour some coffee for her. He already brew it earlier. Aria appreciate the kind gesture, so she simply smile and thank Hiromi. He simply nod, while sipping his own cup too. Then, a figure that he is waiting for arrive. Hiromi put down his cup, before greet the man.
"Late as ever, Neji." Hiromi pour a cup of coffee for Neji. The tall man grin, wide. Shamelessly, he sit on the couch and happily drink the coffee.
"You're welcome, Attorney Higuruma." He winks. Neji smile politely when he see Aria. He knew this girl. He loves her bread too. He sometimes visit her bakery just to get some bread. The taste is quite different from the other bakery. Perhaps, her bread is just the most fresh among others.
"Cut it short. I want you to check the woman in the guest room. She passed out in the middle of the rain, right in front of my office." Hiromi stated. Neji nod. It sounds serious, so he didn't wait long enough to stand up and take the stairs up.
Aria and Hiromi put their cup down. Fast, they follow Neji upstairs.
In the room, the woman already woke up and looks around. She is rather calm and collected. She's not panic at all, but her face looks so pale. Aria excuse herself to get some hot coffee for her, as she quite knew where the kitchen is.
"Hi, I'm Dr. Neji. He is my friend, Attorney Higuruma. I'm going to do some check up on you. First, is there any condition that I might know before I treat you, miss?" Neji really straight to the point.
"I... I'm Mio. Condition? I'm pregnant, supposedly." She answered. Her face seems cold and does not reflect any emotion.
"Mio, hm. I see. Pregnant, alright. Did you go to the doctor already? Did they tell you the gestational age?" Neji asked.
"I don't know. My ex husband said he would accompany me to my first doctor check up today. Yet, yeah." Mio explained.
