Maybe he knew. Maybe he didn't. Maybe it was a lie. Maybe it was the truth. Maybe.

Lying is an art that some of us excel at while the others are brutally bad at it. For Arielle, she had a gift. Not precisely something she would have thought she would do but she did. She lied and lying, it always comes with a price. As soon as her phone rang, she knew she had to pay it now.

With a shaking hand, she picked up her phone that was on the table to her lap. "Arielleee thank goodness, you picked up otherwise who knows, who would've died because of you." Adam let out a high-pitched laugh filled with gleam that caused Arielle to wince. It always reminded her of chalk on a board. Even just thinking about it, gave her chills. "Ari?" he called her in a calm voice. "Y-Yes?" she asked; whispering. She couldn't breathe. She swore that she wasn't weak, she just couldn't do this anymore. "STOP. FUCKING. WINCING. LIKE. A. LITTLE. BITCH." he roared into the phone; almost causing her phone to tumble from her lap to the floor as she jumped up in panic. The once shaking hands were shaking again as she took a large breath of air; her lungs feeling as if they were being ripped apart.

A single tear dropped from her eye as she listened to something he said to her; writing it down on her hand as he ended the call. "5th Low Avenue" it read. She closed her eyes in pain; feeling her head grow heavier as she threw the little piece of technology on the bed as she spoke in a low voice; "He knows."

"What do you mean 'he knows', Elle?" he asked as he paced around the room. His hands tugging at his hair. God, this wasn't supposed to happen. "It means that he fucking knows, Jesse." Arielle snapped at him as she with trembling hands tried to fix up her hair. Jesse halted his movements, only now realizing how this was affecting her. He looked at her; in guilt knowing that somehow this was because of him. "I'm sorry." he murmured as he walked closer to the bed; going beside her. "Let me help." he whispered to her as she weakly nodded. He slowly gathered all her wavy hair in his hand; almost afraid that he would accidentally hurt her as he pulled them up in a low ponytail. As soon as he did it, he walked right in front of her; sitting down.

No one spoke a word, almost afraid to ruin the peace but they had to talk. They had to figure something out. "I know that we thought that we finished this but we didn't so either we do this together or not." Arielle spoke; unsure where her words would end but for Jesse, he was glad they ended with she still wanting him.

"Yes. It's always going to be yes. No matter what, I'll always do right by you. Once you asked me, what's makes me happy and i replied, golfing. I was dumb and stupid and obviously hadn't been consumed by you but Elle, it was you. You make me happy and you'll always make me happy and i have been trying to do everything to make sure, i do the same. I want all of you. So, yes. We're in this, together." Jesse spoke in a thick voice with one of his hands cupping her cheeks. Her eyes fluttered close in relief; both at his words and his touch.

She opened her eyes, her chocolate brown eyes staring in his green ones as she mumbled, "You make me so happy, sometimes i think it's impossible to feel so much happiness from one person but I love you, Jesse. I always have and I always will and I'll make sure that you don't ever regret loving me." She smiled at him but his heart almost shattered, it wasn't the one that would always make his heart leap. It was the one that would make him feel as if someone ripped his heart out. It was a sad smile and he hated that sight more than anything.
