Wednesday did go to the cafeteria but even with her stomach growling and the warm food in front of her, she couldn't bare to pick any of it up. She wasn't going to ditch out on Xavier, she was eventually going to go back to help him with the coating but being so close to him was excruciating.
When they make eye contact, her lungs struggle to do their job.
She has urges that are intrusive and distinct.

She sighed and got up, going back to Xavier.
Once she reached him, she was pleased to see he just now started coating.
She walked up silently, grabbing a brush and some paint and stood beside him, copying his movements.

Neither of them felt the need to talk, they both were consumed of each other's presence and secretly enjoyed the moment.
Although, Wednesday refused to look at him. Whenever she felt his eyes on her it made her feel exposed. She wanted so badly to run her fingers through his hair and taste his lips.

Get a hold of yourself Wednesday. Just finish painting and go suffer in solitude.

"I see you guys didn't waste no time,"

Wednesday and Xavier turned around, slightly startled. It was Mrs. Sapphire. She wore a friendly smile, looking in-between the two.

"We're just prepping the spot today," Wednesday stated.

"I see that," she looked over Wednesdays shoulder at the white paint. Then she looked at Xavier. "I seen your other mural earlier," She gestured towards the ravens. "I was hoping you would volunteer. You are a very gifted artist."

"Thank you, ma'am."

"Anyway, I was just passing through, no need to stop by my office later, I will write your names down."

Wednesday looked at her up and down, studying her body language, trying to figure out what kind of person she is.

"What are you anyway?"

Xavier seemed uncomfortable by her random and kind of rude question but Mrs. Sapphire just chuckled.

"My name is a hint. The crystal of truth."

Wednesday thought about it, muddled until she realized.

"Retro-cognition." Wednesday estimated, fascinated. "A walking lie detector. Very convenient for us."

"So I've heard," Mrs. Sapphire gave a sad smile and looked at the wall. "Weems was a very good friend of mine. Basically my only friend. It was hard making friends with people who were never fond of truth.. Larissa was so genuine and caring, strong. The only time she lied to me was when she told me my birthday present wasn't that expensive."

Xavier put his head down and Wednesday blinked a few times, feeling the sentiments rolling off her tounge.

"Anyway, you two have a goodnight. If you ever need me, you know where I am."

"Have a goodnight." Xavier gave her a nod. Wednesday watched Mrs.Sapphire walk away, her words recollecting in her head. She felt a tightening in her chest.

She must've stayed like that for a minute cause she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, if you want I can finish the rest up for tonight."

Wednesday pushed away her feelings and looked at him, "No, I'm helping." She dipped her brush in more paint as well as Xavier.
"You ready for classes tomorrow?"

"I wouldn't have much of a choice regardless if I was prepared or not."
He nodded, unaware of how to respond to that. "But yes, I am always ready."

"You going to continue working this semester?" She asked, genuinely curious. If he's not in school or his shack she would want to track him down.

"Yeah, but not there."

"That's probably a good idea."

"What do you mean?"

She shrugged, "Well, the whole town knows that the wolf in sheeps clothing worked there. I wouldn't say it is good for business."

He agreed silently.
He wanted to ask if she was alright or if any thing from last year has stuck with her but he knew vulnerability wasn't her strong suit so it was no use. Once again, he had the urge to just wrap her up and protect her from the world.

"Alright, I'd say it's good." He took a few steps back and looked at today's work. "Looks good." He smiled down at her.

"Good. I would like to take a shower."

"Go off and do your thing, I'll put all of this away," He reassured her.

Wednesday looked at him for a minute, making sure he was sure.

"Fine."

She began walking away but a question suddenly clouded her mind.

Why ravens?

Wednesday took a shower, braided her hair and found comfort in loose clothing.
She walked out of the bathroom and the first thing she saw was an overly excited werewolf.
She hopped her way over to her speaking incoherently with a big smile on her face.

"I don't know if your parents ever informed you but sugar before bedtime is forbidden." She folded her arms.

"I had the BEST day today. Ajax took me out to the fanciest restaurant in town for dinner, and the best part- it was candlelit!"

"Amazing." Not an ounce of amusement got through Wednesdays teeth.

"And he let me play with his snakes! I had to close my eyes, of course but they loved me." She went on as Wednesday imagined one, or a few of the snakes on the top of his head biting the blonde haired girl and she smirked.

"Anyway, how was your day?" I know you sownt it with Xavier." Enid wiggled her eyebrows at her best friend.

The sound of his name instantly made her body feel weird yet she pushed it aside.

"Strictly business."

"Oh come on, Wednesday. Denial is a river in Egypt. You had feelings for him since last semester. I don't get why you won't admit it."

Wednesday panicked for a second.

Is it obvious? Who else knows?

"I do not."

Enid ignored her and continued walking around the room. "What I really don't get is how you went out with Tyler but not Xavier."

"I never intended on 'going out' with Tyler. He was convienient for my investigation. He tried gaslighting me into having feelings. His 'date' caught me completely off guard."

Enid went silent, never thinking of it like that.

"Nevertheless, the date wasn't suffering, right?

Actually, it was. He made me watch Legally Blonde and I've never cringed more in this earthly existence."

Enid sighed and gave in to defeat.

"Okay, if you want to lie to everybody but most of all, to yourself than I will let you do so in peace.. I'm taking a shower."

Wednesday watched as she grabbed her clothes and walked to the bathroom, not even sparing her a passing glance.
Wednesday involuntarily gulped and blinked, once more she felt consumed.
