"Well, it wouldn't be another normal year here in Nevermore without something like this, huh?" Bianca sat down and scrolled through the messages.
"But these messages go back to the beginning of the school year, why haven't you looked into it until now?"
Wednesday discreetly glanced at Xavier. "I've been...distracted."
Bianca looked in between the two and chuckled with a hint of hurt behind her eyes. She knew it was only a matter of time and she accepts it, they both deserve to be happy, or whatever it is Wednesday feels. The thing she couldn't accept is the fact she thought he loved her but it was never true.
She always thought, if her own mother couldn't love her, then who possibly could?
"I see..." She nodded and handed the phone back to her. "Well, I mean, we will all keep an eye open for someone or something suspicious." She stood up with the twins behind her.
Xavier rubbed the small part of Wednesdays back, knowing she was okay and not scared but he was for her. He just got her; he didn't want any chances of her being taken away.
He wanted to hold her and kiss her and whisper sweet nothings into her ear, but Wednesday wasn't much for PDA. Funny considering, she was absolutely feral in private.
The big doors to the courtyard opened and in walked Sheriff Galpin.
"Wednesday."
Just the tone of his voice made her body uneasy.
"I'm ready."
She looked up at Xavier, who stood a whole foot taller. She loved it but at the moment she wasn't enjoying the long distance.
"You go figure stuff out, love. I'll be in the shack." He lightly kissed the top of her head and she walked towards the principal's office with Galpin. The more distance that came between her and Xavier, her body began longing. Longing to the point it physically hurt and mentally consumed her.
She told herself to stop being so weak and she will see him again in just a short time.
"Wednesday, Galpin. Come right in." Mrs. Sapphire moved aside and Wednesday walked into the familiar room. This room should of had been her dormitory last year with all the trips she had here. She looked around and saw Weems everywhere. At her desk, in front of the fireplace, walking through the threshold.
She couldn't deny how much she missed her. She's never felt that way about anyone before. Besides her Scorpion.
Mr. Galpin sat down and looked defeated.
"So, Wednesday, I've heard that you have had a stalker." Mrs. Sapphire sat at her desk.
"It would seem so."
Galpin sat there quietly, which was very curious.
"Sheriff?" Wednesday asked.
"I- Uhm. Uh." Wednesday looked at him, having a feeling that whatever was about to come out of his mouth was going to be something bad.
"Spit it out."
Galpin didn't even respond to her blatant rudeness, instead he just looked at her with heartbreak in his eyes.
"Tyler is free."
Wednesday stood up in an instant. "What?"
"After the text at the restaurant about your usual drink I started to suspect. I contacted the government and after denying me information, I told them if he was free then I needed to know because he might be here."
She stared at him, waiting for him to finish. Her stomach felt like organs were shutting down, her mind became fogged.
"He is here."
Chills impacted every inch of her skin, and she ran out of the room.
Xavier.
She needed to get to Xavier.
Her legs felt like they would give out any moment. Fear such as this was something she has never experienced. Even after everything last year.
She knew with every inch of her being Tyler was after Xavier and possibly had him already. The moment her instincts told her to not leave Xaviers side, she should've listened.
She ran into the Courtyard, hoping he changed his mind, but he wasn't there. Everyone looked at her with shock on their faces. They have never seen a look on her face like this. Pure fear. Enid tried talking to her but Wednesday didn't hear anything. She ran out of the school building and into the woods.
Alone.
I am so sorry for the late updates, but I have been super busy! I know it is a short chapter, but my laptop is about to die momentarily. I am updating again tonight!
