Battles to fight

He does not have the energy to run

He does not find things interesting

He does not think that living is fun

Both mornings, nights are depressing

He stays in his hospital bed for days

A cap covers hair when he is outside

Chances are rare to see sun's rays

He looks exhausted and teary eyed

The hospital says, it will all get better

He hangs on to that last bit of hope

From his friends, he gets many letters

Their loving words help him cope

He blames himself for everything

He can see others trying their best

If he didn't end up as a sick being

His loved ones could have good rest

So he lies that he is feeling alright

That he does not feel pain a lot

He tries to tolerate a lonely fight

He smiles with everything he got

Sometimes everything goes south

He can not hide his pain everyday

Fake lies refuse to leave his mouth

Prays he will get better someday

He wishes to become a good doctor

Someone who helps patients smile

But before that, he needs to recover

He needs to work harder for a while

So he keeps on putting a tough fight

His dreams and desires there waiting

He needs to make everything alright

Until then he decides to keep enduring

Dedicated to all the cancer patients who were and are still fighting their battles bravely.

I hope it was not offensive to anyone, i tried to write it from the perspective of a patient. But since I have not experience it myself personally, there might be some inaccuracies and I apologise for that.

World Cancer day, 4th February

World Cancer Day held every 4 February is the global uniting initiative led by the  (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, improving education and catalysing personal, collective and government action, we are all working together to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all - no matter who you are or where you live.

Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history.

Each year, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world, gathering communities, organisations and individuals in schools, businesses, hospitals, marketplaces, parks, community halls, places of worship - in the streets and online - acting as a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer.
