THE BRIDGER SIBLINGS SIT AROUND their round dining table in the kitchen, Charlie slurping down the last remnants of the milk in his bowl while Paxton make herself toast. Breakfast has been dull for the last month, dinner was no better. Their father loves to cook, his best hobby.

He made sure they went to school everyday full. He had a routine. First, he'd shower, maybe shave before the rowdy kids had to wake up. At six-fifty, he'd start on breakfast. As the kids got older he didn't have to worry about waking them up. Even if he did, Charlie always woke up first and would save his dad the trip to Paxton's room anytime she hit snooze on her alarm. He'd prepare an array of food; bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, among other things. If he felt like the day would be a good one, he'd set out fruit.

Like a cheesy nineteen-fifties show, the kids would come down the stairs smiling. Already prepared for the day ahead. Daniel would ask about their nights since he'd always come home late. They'd lie. "Great, me and some friends watched a movie," was always Charlie's go-to line.

But now, with his passing, the kids would be happy if the milk hadn't expired yet or if there was enough cereal to last another morning. Most times they'd skip breakfast altogether.

Charlie sets his bowl down, his belly full from the sudden intake of the milk. "So, what'd you do last night?" he asks with a smile.

It's too early to be that happy, she says to herself as she blinks back the sleep from her eyes. "Allison, Lydia, and I watched a movie," she lies. Though it's not far from the truth. She had   been with them last night, just not the whole night.

Stiles dropped her back off at the parking lot where they left her brother's car. Said their plan would start tomorrow before she left the Jeep. In her car, she watched her shaking hands hover over the steering while she wondered if she were prepared for their plan. Could she really handle the reveal of the alpha? She couldn't even handle driving Derek's Camaro down a straight road.

But, she's too far into it now to waste the potential of knowing who murdered all of those innocent people. After all, the real reason she entered Stiles and Scott's life again was to find who killed her father. But could she really handle the truth?

"You sound like me," Charlie breaks her thoughts as he washes his bowl behind the small island.

"Well, I learned from the be-"

"When I lie," he stops her before she could finish while turning the faucet off and leaning his back against the sink. A stance their father had in the rare occasion that they were caught in a lie.

She bites back her bottom lip, stopping her words. "I wasn't lying, you can ask them," she shrugs, not sharing eye contact as she bites into her food. Her heart starts to pound, making it hard to breathe.

His eyes narrow on her. "Nah, I'm just messing with you," his serious expression breaks into a goofy smile. He walks behind her seat, messing up her hair, "I scared you, didn't I?"

"Quit!" she slaps his hand, at the same time his free hand steals a piece of toast of her plate. "I was eating that!" she yells as he sprints away into their foyer.
