Chapter 5: The New Hashira

It's been a day since Tanjiro and Kanao earned their places as Hashira and now they are back at the corp to get their uniforms and their positions in Kimetsu High school.

As they were walking down the hall on their way to Oyakata-sama's office they heard a voice. The owner of the voice seemed to be yelling at someone.

"I TOLD YOU IM FINE DAMN IT, THESE SCRATCHES AREN'T ENOUGH TO HARM THE KING OF THE MOUNTAINS!"

Tanjiro's eyes widened in realization. It may have been seven years but he recognizes that voice from anywhere. Even Kanao seemed to recognize it.

The couple followed the voice until they reached a room in the medical ward and they opened the door.

There on the bad sat a man with short black hair which faded to blue. He was wearing a thin short sleeved blue shirt which shower off his bulging biceps with a few tattoos on his arms.The man seemed to be yelling at poor male nurse who was trembling. The man's back was facing the couple but Tanjiro and Kanao knew that voice from anywhere.

"I-Inosuke.....?"

The said man turned around and the froze once his green eyes met the two figures at the door who looked just as shocked as he is.

"M-monjiro....?"

Tanjiro did not waste any time and ran up to his old pal and engulfed him in a bone crushing hug. Inosuke smiled and returned the hug whilst patting his back.

"I.....I can't believe this....", Tanjiro said as tears fell from his eyes.

"Me neither Monjiro- b-but it's not like I missed you or anything, the king of the mountains isn't that soft", Inosuke answered pretending that he was close to bursting in tears.

"Hehe same old Inosuke", Kanao said from behind them.

"Lanao you're here too!?", Inosuke exclaimed as he gave her a quick hug.

"Oh Aoi will be so happy to see you"

Kanao froze for a second at the name.

"A-Aoi?"

"Yeah, she hasn't really been the same since you two left", said Inosuke in a low but audible tone.

Kanao and Tanjiro looked down in guilt. They know it was wrong to leave without any warning but they didn't really have a choice then. Those were difficult times. They were desperate and desperate times call for desperate measures.

"We're really sorry Inosuke", Tanjiro apologized.

"Nah don't worry about it", Inosuke patted Tanjiro's shoulder, "but guess what.....I'm on the top rank now and I'm very close to becoming a piller hahahahaha!"

"Wow that's amazing Inosuke!"

"I know I'm amazing", Inosuke boasted whilst striking a pose with sparkles around him.

Tanjiro and Kanao just looked at their old friend with an amused look.

"Now what are you two doing here anyways?"

"Oh well..... we're actually the new Hashira here"

For a moment Inosuke froze. He then looked at them with a "WHAT FUCKING SORCERY IS THIS!?" look.

"Y-y-yo-you're Hashira?", He asked stuttering.

Tanjiro and Kanao sweat dropped. "Uhh....yeah?", They answered already knowing what's coming next.

"Oh.....I see"

"Uh Inosuke buddy look we know you always wanted to be Hashira first before all of us but-"
