Bonding Time

“ So.. where do you want to go first?” Erza asked me while we are walking. I shrug my shoulders at her before looking around. Hm...

“ I don't know. It's up to you Erza, i don't even know this place like you do” i said as she nodded her head before looking around as well.

“ Well.. how about i show you to one of my favourite place?” she asked me with a grin on her face. I raised my eyebrow at her before giving a shrug.

We passed some more houses and market before we stop in front of some... cake shop? Huh? I look at the girl beside me, and there is some spark on her eyes while looking at the shop, or more like to the cakes that's on display. I said nothing about it as a smile found its way in my face. Well, i guess she likes cakes at all. Looking at the rows of different flavours of cakes my eyes stop at one particular cake.

“ You know... I never taste or eaten any cakes in my whole life before” i said while my eyes are still locked on that cake. It was the same colour and flavour of the cake that I've seen before when my mother and i will always get passed on the shop after we sell some things down the streets.

“ Really?” she asked me and i can hear the surprise in her voice as i smile. “ Then... how about we get one? Pick what flavour you want and I'll buy it for you” she said as i quickly turn to look at her, surprised. She has a soft smile on her face and i continue to look at her. She turn her head to me and smile even more. I looked back at the cake and look at her again.

“ Can i have the strawberry one with lots of strawberries on top?” i asked in small voice as i feel my cheeks burned. She turned to me with a look of surprise on her face.

“ Strawberry flavour? Why that one?” she asked.

“ Well... back then, when mother and i walks on the streets after a long day selling our things. My eyes would always wonder on the cake shop, and the strawberry one would always catch my attention. Though i never tasted it, i can already tell just by the look of it that it's delicious” i said to her as my eyes are once again looking at the cake. She chuckled a little before i hear her let out a sigh.

Erza told the owner that she will buy the cake that i pointed out, and now... here we are, at the park sitting on the ground under some tree, with a plate in hand as i stared down at the slice of strawberry cake. There is also a plate on her hand, though neither of us had started eating. My mouth watered at the sight of it and the smell of strawberries. I can hear Erza chuckling in the background.

“ Why don't you take a bite and tell me how it taste?” i look at her briefly before nodding my head and picking up the cutlery in my hand. As it was getting closer to my lips i can feel the excitement growing inside me for finally going to taste it. I can feel my hands are shaking a bit and Erza are looking at me with amusement in her eyes.

As soon as i finally has taken a bite, the sweet flavour of the cake melts. There is a little sour taste but it blended well with the sweetness. Not too sweet, just perfect for my taste. I opened my eyes and found Erza staring at me with a big smile on her face, her eyes also have some spark on it.

“ So... how is it?” she asked me with a hint of excitement on her voice. I swallowed first before opening my mouth to respond, the cake's sweet taste are lingering in my mouth.

“ It really is delicious, not too sweet and the sour taste blends well with it” i said as she grinned at me before taking a bite as well.

“ Nothing can compare to strawberry cake anyway. It's so delicious that i can't help but to eat twice or thrice a day. After all it is my favourite” she said to me before taking a bite again. Her eyes are sparkling while talking about it. There's no telling it, it really is her favourite based on the sparks in her eyes and the big grin on her face.
