"Forget your scars, we'll forget mine."

For the longest time, Niall wasn't exactly sure how to feel.

Okay, so he knew that he loved Liam. Great. He just didn't know exactly what to do with said feelings because he's not sure, now, what Liam thinks of him. He wishes he knew what Liam loved or hated about him, because Niall's positive that he could morph into the perfect boyfriend that Liam needs.

But, he doesn't know, and all he can think about is sex because he knows that's what he has to do in order to be loved once more.

He wonders, then, when Liam decided he was sexy, rather than beautiful. He wonders when Liam became so driven on sex, and sex alone, instead of just cuddling on the sofa. For the most part, however, he just wonders what he has to do for Liam to finally appreciate him.

And that's the first day.

The next day, Liam doesn't call.

And, yeah, Niall's just a little bit upset. He knows that conversation is a two-way kind of thing, but he feels like Liam should apologize - if he did, Niall would too, he decides.

Oh, yes, Niall knows that some of the blame is on him. Liam's wants could have been met, Niall knows, and maybe they wouldn't be giving each other the cold shoulder. Okay, maybe it was only Liam who was ignoring Niall, but Niall could have called him if he really wanted to patch things up quickly and move on. He knows that much.

But, he kind of wants to see Liam take some action here, because it's pretty much always Niall who has to apologize. And, well, he hates that. Because, maybe, if Liam had been just a tad bit more considerate with Niall's feelings, they'd still be just fine.

That's the thing, though - Niall's not sure if they've ever been fine. Liam has his anger issues, it seems to be anyhow, and Niall's just all sorts of messed up at the moment. He just wants to forget about the past, and be loved. He didn't think that was so much to ask.

So, yes, he had a right to sulk and be angry.

He waited for Liam's call.

On the third day, still no word from Liam, Niall was beginning to crumble.

He wouldn't show that he was weak, because he really wasn't. He sat in his room, for a couple hours in a row, playing his guitar or cracking open his brand-new laptop. On the days where he would sit on his bed, surfing the internet, he'd watch a bunch of videos of the X-Factor. He'd laugh at the stupid jokes, and marvel at his friends as they looked so happy, and he just missed that. He was happy, too, he realized. He would smile, then.

After a few, maybe about twenty, videos, there was a knock on the door of his flat. He bolted up, his laptop falling to his bed, and rushed to the door as quickly as he could. He had been expecting Liam, after all.
