"So.. where do I start." I say quietly, yet with much excitement. With Luna and Mana now tucked into bed, Mitsuya and I could talk for as many hours as we'd like. I was longing for a night like this to catch up with someone, to platonically talk to them about anything I needed and to listen to anything they had to say. Luckily for me, Mitsuya was the perfect person.
With the two of us sat on a small couch in his living room, I began to apply rubbing alcohol to his fresh, more serious looking wounds. He didn't flinch nor complain as the burning solution was applied. When I bandaged his surface injuries, he looked at me with a mischivious smirk as if he wanted me to tell him something.
"Aren't you going to tell me what's up with you and Mikey?" he asks with pure curiosity. I roll my eyes but open my mouth ready to tell him.
"Well, maybe I like him just a little." I give in. He doesn't look as excited as I thought he would've looked after finally telling him the news.
"Yeah. That's the obvious, y/n. I mean has anything happened with that? Has he told you he likes you?"
I stop treating his wounds for a moment and looked up to the ceiling to think. He never confessed his feelings to me formally but it was obvious we were not only friends. Even I was able to recognize that our relationship was special.
"We aren't dating or anything, but don't tell anyone I'm telling you any of this okay? Before we went to sleep together we-" I was interrupted and Mitsuya's eyes suddenly went wide.
"You slept with him y/n?!" he says almost too loud. I rush to cover his mouth with my hand, though his shocked eyes still looked back at me.
"No! No I didn't. Well I mean I did, but not in the way you're thinking!" I defend, Mitsuya still not convinced.
"I don't know, you two seem awfully close." he adds. I could barely tell if he was being serious or teasing me. Clearly he had caught on to me as my face couldn't quite shake off the embarrassed expression.
"Not to mention that you were wearing his shirt..." he says, just loud enough that I could hear. I immediately rushed to cover his mouth to prevent him from commenting further. Who knows what he could've pieced together when he came to visit our hotel room?
"I have no explanation for you. The past few days have been a bit of a blur." I respond to his comment. I collected myself and finished up the bandaging. "Can I ask you something? About Mikey?"
"Anything. I know him inside and out." he says. The atmosphere returned to a serious state.
"Has he... ever had a girlfriend?"
"Nope. Never. He was the type that never seemed to be interested in relationships. Until he met you that is." Mitsuya began. I blinked in response. "In a way, you've changed him y/n. I was sure that Mikey would never learn to love again."
I quickly finished up the final bandaging and slumped back beside Mitsuya on his living room couch. Through his scar filled face I could see his honest expression and kind smile to ensure that he had really been telling the truth.
"Do you think he would let me be his girlfriend?" I ask Mitsuya.
"You'll never know if you don't ask!" he nudged me. I laughed and dramatically fell onto his lap where he looked down at me. "Seriously, you two are practically dating. The whole world of delinquents already knows. It's part of the reason he's being so protective of you too."
"When did you learn your ways with the ladies Mitsuya? You always know exactly what I want to hear. So, who's your lucky girl?" I ask him. His eyes softened at my words and he hesitated.
"A girl so beautiful, she isn't even aware of her own beauty. I'm always thinking of her." he answers softly with the expression of someone in love.
"... and why don't you tell her how you feel?"
"I know I can't have her, since her heart is already someone else's. But I'm fine to watch her from afar, as long as she's happy." he says barely loud enough for me to hear. His lavender eyes softened and stared into my own.
"Whoever she is, she's lucky to have you" I state.
"Don't mind that, let's get back to the important stuff!" Mitsuya says as he shakes his head to focus again. "Have you two kissed?"
"Yeah..." I reply with an obviously embarrassed expression. I can barely manage to look at his face that wore that same sly smirk. It was obvious that he wanted to know more, and I figured it couldn't hurt to tell him everything. "... we also may have made out a few times."
Mitsuya's eyes widened and his mouth opened in shock. Only then I had realized that perhaps I had told him too much.
"Don't tell anyone okay? Please I-"
"Of course I won't tell anyone y/n. I just didn't realize truly how serious you guys were." he interrupted. I only nod in response. "Is there anything else I should know?"
As much as I wanted to reveal everything in that moment, I decided to keep a few things secret for my own sake.
"No, but I promise you'll be the first I tell if anything more happens." I exclaimed.
"Promise?" Mitsuya responds as he held out his pinky finger.
"Promise."
