The Next Day...
"Guys, look! We've made it to the Sol Kingdom!" said Isabella as she told everyone. "It took us a few months but it was worth the wait!" cried Amadeus. "Rosemary, lower the anchor!" ordered the Captain. "Aye Aye, Captain!" said Rosemary as the vixen herself has lowered the ship's anchor.
Jules went over to Charles and said, "Pack our things. We won't be returning to this ship. Our lives as pirates and the captain's underlings are over as of today." Charles looked at him questionably and asked "Mind explaining yourself? You think the captain will just let us leave?" Jules soon whispered to his older brother so no one else can know what they're talking about. "Aleena gave me a pouch filled with fist-sized rare gems and pearls not found on land and it should be enough for us to get our own ships."
Jules showed Charles a few samples of one of those gems and pearls. Charles' eyes widened as he said "Get our own ships!? We can buy our own mansions and workshops!" Jules eyes also widened "Workshops!?" Jules cried. "I'm tired of being out on sea. I want to start a new life and business on land." Charles told Jules. "What am I even thinking?! I can't even swim in water!" Jules said as he soon facepalmed himself.
Suzie was hearing Jules and Charles' conversation from the water and she appears to be carrying Aleena to a nearby beach behind one of the rocks. "Thanks, Suzie...I would've drowned if it weren't for you." Aleena said to the small seal. "Jules, is your memory failing you already? You have gills under your arms and can swim like nothing now." Asked Charles. "I keep forgetting about that. I guess I'm still not used to that yet.
But what kind of business do you want to start on land?" Jules asked Charles. "Engineering." said Charles.Aleena looked at legs and toes. When she soon wiggled her little toes she had a smile on her face that she could be on land with the other surfacers. Aleena tried to stand on her feet for the first time but she kept messing up and ended up in falling into the water. After many attempts she soon got it right on the third attempt.
"I think I'm getting the hang of it now, Suzie--what's wrong, girl?" Aleena asked small seal while looking down at her pet seal. Suzie was trying to tell Aleena that Aleena doesn't have clothes on her body after Aleena's seashell bra came off earlier leaving Aleena with no clothing on her body. "I suppose it's customary for female land dwellers to be fully dressed unlike the males. It couldn't hurt to wear something decent and modest I suppose." Aleena said as she used her powers to materialized clothes around her body, decent enough for her to blend in and not stand out.
Aleena was soon singing a song her late mother Queen Athena used to sing to her father. It was an original song that no one on land had heard before. It was a song of a lady's unconditional love, respect and loyalty to her lover and protector. Aleena didn't notice the male attention she was getting. "Wow, we've never heard a song like that before." said one Mobian "Yeah, Whoever that young lady is, she sings beautifully." said another Mobian.
"Whoever she is," said a young male Mobian, "I've never seen her from around here before. I've met and interacted with a number of girls from this town and kingdom, but I know for a certainty that she's not from around here." said the young male Mobian. "So she's a foreigner," said the first guy, "Interesting."
Meanwhile...
"Jules, I'm tired of always being on ships, having no place to call home, having no stability because we're always on the move and on the run from enemies, living a life that entails constant danger and uncertainty of whether or not we'll live to see tomorrow." Charles told Jules. "I understand, Charles... and I can't really run around that much because we were always on the ship for almost our entire lives." Jules replied to Charles.
"We don't need to buy ships, Jules. What we can do is buy land, build our own homes and start our own businesses in opening a chain of workshops. We have the resources to do so now. If you were to ever marry and have kids one day, your wife will need security and stability." said Charles as he explained to Jules. "That actually is a good point, Charles. I'm glad I still have you or else I would've made not so good choices.....I actually should let Aleena know about it and be honest with her..." said Jules.
"How will convince the captain to allow us to leave?" Charles asked Jules. "I'll give him one of these pearls in exchange for our freedom and as a thank for allowing us to live and work on his ship. There's no way he'll refuse this beauty. And I do admit, I miss running on land." said Jules.
A few minutes later...
Jules came back after talking to the Captain. "How did it go, little brother?" Charles asked Jules. "I-I gave him one of these pearls in exchange for our freedom and.....He said that we were free to go..." Jules told Charles before he broke down into tears. "Why are you crying?" Charles asked Jules. "I'm happy that we'll start a new life. I longer have to live this hard life where the ship crew treats me as less than a commoner and disposable. I don't have to be the clean up guy and doing the lowest jobs no else wants to do anymore." said Jules as his voice kept getting cut off when tears were coming out of his eyes.
"Come on, Jules. Let's go pack our things and say goodbye to everyone before we go." Charles told Jules. "Okay, Charles..." said Jules as he wiped his tears off with his hand. "Jules, don't leave!" cried Amadeus. "Amadeus, it's for the best for both Jules and his brother." Rosemary told Amadeus. "Blue, I hope we meet again in the future...It's sad seeing you and Charles leave but it's also a fresh start of a new life for you and Charles..." Isabella said to Jules.
"Charles and I wish you both the best in your adventures out at sea. But my brother and I want to start a new adventure and build a new life on land. I'm sure we'll cross paths again in the future with your stories to tell." Jules said to three of his fellow crew mates who were the only ones that were his friends. Amadeus, Rosemary, and Isabella hugged both Jules and Charles before the two hedgehog brothers left the ship to start their new life on land.
