Flama was watching her husband giving it all he had. But it wasn't with anger or pride, but excitement and fun at meeting his elemental opposite. With Aleena and Arthur, they saw that look of thrill and exhilaration from Leonardo's face as though something inside him sparked and took over him. "It's been a long since I last saw my husband this happy ever since after he was scarred by his abusive father...before we met..." Queen Flama said with a warm smile on her face.
(Flashback)
"YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A DISGRACE TO MY BLOODLINE!!" shouted King Inferno. Pyro was on his knees, shaken and beaten down by his father's harsh and callous treatment he dared called training. Inferno was a tyrant ruler, an abusive parent and feared by his people. Pyro despised his father more than anyone, but didn't have the strength needed to dethrone him. "Dad, stop it...!" Pyro begged King Inferno while he was crying in pain. "Your older brother had more resilience than you!" King Inferno said to the young Prince. "And that killed him because you harshly expected too much from us!" Young Pyro spatted out. Inferno slapped Pyro to the floor for back talking him and exposing the reasons for his elder son's death.
Pyro's mother Queen Solaria heard the commotion going on and saw her child being abused by her abusive tyrant so called "husband". "INFERNO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Solaria ran over to Pyro and took him into her protective arms. "Your pampering of the boy is adding to why he's so weak. He'll never change if you keep smothering out that fire before it ignites." King Inferno told Queen Solaria. "I lost one son, I won't lose another." Queen Solaria told King Inferno. "I rather not have him become a monster like YOU." Solaria said as she glared at Inferno before leaving the room with Pyro in her arms. Solaria never forgave her husband for the death of their firstborn son who died from over exertion and lack of rest from his father's harsh and overbearing training. His body wasn't able to handle the tremendous stress and he ultimately died from a fatal heart attack.
"There, that should do it." Solaria said after she finished tending Pyro's wounds. "Why did you marry my father? I know you never wanted to." Pyro asked his mother Queen Solaria. "It was an arranged marriage my father who was a nobleman made with Inferno's father, the previous king. My father used me to ensure that his grandchildren became part of the royal bloodline." Solaria told the young prince. "Were you...scared of dad...?" Pyro asked his mother Solaria. "I'm only scared of him hurting you...and I don't want the same thing happen to you after what happened to your older brother. Even though I never loved your father, I will always love you my son. You and your late older brother are my most precious treasures. Promise me that you'll never become your like father or like your grandfathers. Become a kind, merciful and loving king to our people." Queen Solaria asked Pyro. "I promise, Mommy." Pyro said to his mother Solaria.
12 years later...
Pyro was 21 and started dating a young noble girl named Flama whom his mother introduced him to. Solaria knew Pyro had a huge crush on her and even caught him a few times staring at her during functions involving the royal family and the nobles. "Looks like someone is in love." said Queen Solaria. Pyro's face started turning red. "W-what...?" Pyro said while blushing. "Getting ready for your next date with Flama? I can still remember how shy you were to approach her." said Queen Solaria. "I was nervous. I was afraid she wouldn't like me." said Prince Pyro. "Flama was very happy that you had eyes on her. She didn't expect that she was the one you like." Queen Solaria told Prince Pyro. "She is an amazing person and she even helped me try to control my temper. Also I better go meet up with her." Pyro said to his mother Queen Solaria. "You and Flama have a good time, alright?" Queen Solaria said to Pyro. "Okay, Mom." Pyro said to his mother before he left to go meet up with Flama. Inferno never agreed or approved of Pyro courting Flama and tried to forbid Pyro from having a relationship with her. Solaria intervened on several occasions in fierce arguments with Inferno in stopping from trying to ruin any happiness Pyro could have with Flama.
