I grab Gray's elbows and haul her out of the chair. Pulling her body straight into mine, I grab the back of her head and try to get her to focus on me.

I had seen Gray spiral before, but this, but feeling it was a whole other experience. Ryker was shaking behind the chair. They were linked. He had a front row seat.

Gray's eyes don't really focus on me as I dip my chin to peer into her face. "Gray?"

Her bottom lip was trembling as her mouth parted. It was like she was trying to form words but nothing was coming out.

Ryker put his hand on the back of the chair to steady himself, his face looking a little green. "She's gonna hurl."

Without another thought, I scoop Gray up and move to the small bathroom in the hallway. I quickly pull Grayson's hair away from her face as I set her down in front of the toilet.

She gags as I lift up the seat and lurches forward. "Shh, I got you." I soothed as I settled down on the ground behind her. I began to rub her back with my hand as she continues to vomit.

I hear Ryker in the kitchen gagging into the wastebasket, Finn soothing him.

Damn. I had been wishing like hell that Grayson would link with me and we could see into each others minds. I was jealous of Ryker a couple minutes ago. Now, I wanted to storm upstairs and throw a punch at Ares.

I get that he was taken aback, and was shocked. We all were.

But he didn't have to leave like that.

Gray had been balancing on a line, tipping from okay to not okay. She thought we were going to turn her over to The Soceity so they could pick her apart. But what scared her the most was us rejecting her.

The thought of us not wanting her was worse than us handing her her very own death certificate.

And Ares had walked.

I'm sure he was coming back, he just needed time to process things. But walking was the worst possible thing we could have done to Gray.

I rub Gray's back as she vomits again, coughing on a little spittle.

Finn enters the bathroom carrying a glass of water. He gives me a look that says he's thinking the same things as me. Ares was going to have a collection of bruises from all three of us.

Opening a drawer, Finn grabs two washcloths. He turns to the sink to wet them.

Ryker stumbles in through the door way, nearly toppling over onto me. "Give yourself a second." I say, offering a hand up to help him sit down. He looks a little less green than before but still out of it. "Are you two still linked?"

Ryker basically crashes to the ground next to us. "No." He rasps. "I was caught off guard and she kicked me out."

Gray falls back into my chest, her body going limp. Her mind nudges against mine, and I help her connect to Finn and Ryker as well. "I was making him sick." Grayson mindlinks us, her voice quiet and weak.

Ryker leans his head against my shoulder and curls into a ball. "It's okay."

Finn hands one of the washcloths to Ry and the other to Gray. She reaches up to take it, but her hand shakes badly. Finn kneels down and gently wipes at her face.

"I'm sorry." Grayson tells us, but I'm not sure what she's even apologizing for.

Finn throws the used cloth in the sink and grabs the glass. "For what, princess?"

I sit up with her so I can take most of her weight as she drinks. Finn carefully places the glass on her lips and let's her take a sip.

"Everything." She says as she licks her lips.
