Ryker's warmth surrounds me as I wake, his strong arms holding me close to him. I can't help but smile in the warm glow of just waking. My mind still clearing itself of sleep, I keep my eyes shut and nuzzle closer to his warm chest.

His arms tighten around me, but his breathing remains steady in his sleep.

A slight prick of anxiety reaches me through the mate bond. My lips twitch into a frown as a realize who it's coming from. Only hesitating for a moment, I reach out to Finn.

I don't offer him a full link, but I do want to make sure he is okay. Just the mindlink would be enough. I didn't need to overwhelm my senses to do something as simple as checking in.

Finn immediately connects with me. "Goodmorning." He says in a soft and comforting voice.

Okay, so he wasn't in peril. Good to know.

"Are you okay?" I ask, and then suddenly I feel like I'm both overstepping and coming up short. "I mean, I'm sorry for mindlinking. It's just that I felt you, and I wanted to make sure you were alright."

Finn hesitates. Was there something wrong?

"Where are you? Are Jagger and Ares with you?" I ask, sensing more through the bond. He wasn't in Moonstone anymore?

"Yeah. The three of us are at the main estate. It's a Society meeting. No big deal." Finn says calmly.

I frown against Ryker's chest. "It doesn't feel like it's no big deal. Did something happen?"

Finn pauses for a moment to gather his thoughts. "I'm okay. I- I sometimes have panic attacks." My heart wrenches in my chest. I didn't know that. "We ran into someone here that has caused my attacks in the past. I managed to ground myself before I got to far though. And Jagger and Ares helped too."

"Are you sure you're okay?" I ask, my heart reaching out to him. A few of his emotions filtered through my barrier. They were all too close to my own thoughts. This someone that he had run into, they had abused Finn, hadn't they? I choked on my next words. "Finn..."

Finn gives me the impression of shaking out his wolf's fur to clear his head through the bond. "I'll be okay enough for right now. Promise."

He let the connection fade, his attention being pulled into the physical world.

My fingers form loose fists against Ryker's naked chest. I felt helpless to do anything about it. I didn't even know where he was. Shame pricks at my gut. I had left him last night. Maybe he wouldn't be feeling this way if I had-

"Stop." Ryker's sleepy voice cuts through my thoughts. I look up at him, his eyes still closed. "You didn't leave him, and this isn't your fault." He says, our link feeding him my inner turmoil. "When they get back, I think he will want to talk to you about it anyway. To explain some things about him."

I furrow my eyebrows. "Get back from where? Explain what things?"

Ryker groans. "Sparks, just a few more minutes."

I can't help but smile. But I needed answers. "I doubt it's morning still. We should have been up hours ago."

Ryker's lips perk up a tiny bit. "I've never slept so good in my life."

I push at his chest lightly. "And we can sleep tonight too."

"We can sleep now, too." He says.

I frown up at his face even though his eyes are still closed. He was like a bear hibernating. A big hot stubborn bear.
