26. "Yes!" A Proposal

"Hello?"

"Hey babe."

"Niall! Hey! What's up?"

"......Well..."

"What is it?"

"....... Caroline and Lou will, uh, be at your house soon."

"Wait, what? Your stylists? Why?"

"Because, um, I have a big surprise for you tonight and they are going to help you get ready for it.

Unsure how to respond you just say, "Um, okay." You pause for a second and his words finally dawn. "What surprise?"

Niall chuckles. "If I tell you, it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?"

You chuckle too, relenting. "Okay, I'll see you tonight."

"Right. See ya."

"Bye."

True to his word Caroline and Lou arrive at your house a few minutes later. And over the next hour and a half they help you get ready.

"This is the longest I've ever taken to get ready." You say once they've finished. "However it's worth it. You guys did a fantastic job, even though I still don't understand why you had to come in the first place."

Lou smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Niall thinks you're gorgeous with or with out our help. There's a good reason behind this. Trust him."

~ 5 minuets later~

"Happy anniversary babe."

"Flowers? You shouldn't have, but thanks." You greet Niall with a kiss and take the flowers inside.

Niall trails behind you. "You look stunning." He comments observing you in your red dress.

"Thank you." you reply. "So," you start, eyes twinkling, "what's my surprise?"

Niall chuckles. "Come with me and you'll see."

So you take his hand and he leads to the car and opens the door for you. "Mi'lady" As he's driving you catch him up on your day and he tells you funny stories from on tour and about the boys.

After a while, he pulls up to a swanky restaurant. He hops out and runs over to your side of the car and opens it for you, "Thank you." you say, impressed. "You are most welcome." He replies handing the keys over to the valet and catching your hand in his and tucking under his arm.

Over dinner he treats you with a bottle of champagne. And after you finish the main course he insists on getting dessert, so you both get something chocolate, of course.

You leave the restaurant and he leads you down a jogging path. With the moonlight shining down on you, you stroll hand in hand down the path.

"Thank you for tonight," you say. "I feel very spoiled."

Niall smiles and steers you to a bench. "Well you should, and this is just the start. I intend to spoil you the rest my life."

"What are you saying?"

"I'm saying, that I am completely and utterly in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He gets down on one knee you in front of you. "Will you marry me?"

"Yes!" you squeal, launching yourself into his arms. You barely recognize his chuckle of delight before his lips are upon yours in a kiss.

After calmed down a little you asked him, "So why was it so important to you that you propose today?"

"Well, 6 months ago, today, was the day I realized I was in love with you and wanted to spend the rest of my life with you."

"Awe, Ni! I love you, so much."

"I love you too ."
