Chapter 5 - Saving Riley

Riley's P.O.V

It was the end of school and I was walking back home until a bunch of guys come out of nowhere and surround me. I recognize 2 of them, Charlie and Daniel.

Charlie: "Riley baby, your looking hot," he walks closer to me and than he grabs my arm.

Riley: "Let me go," I yell while trying to push him away from me.

As soon as he lets go I feel someone hands on my waist. "Come on babe, we're not asking for much. Just come with us and nothing too bad will happen to you."

Riley: "Please just let me go," I beg while I try to break the circle they made around me.

Riley: "Look, if you don't let me go now, I'll-"

Daniel: "You'll what?" he grabs my waist and pulls me closer towards him and starts touching my cheek.

At this point I don't know what I'm going to do. So, I start screaming for help and hopefully someone will hear my screams.

James P.O.V

I'm driving home in my truck and all of a sudden I hear someone screaming. I stop my truck and look around and notice a bunch of guys surrounding this girl, but I can't tell who it is so I drive a bit closer and realize that it's Riley.

James: "Hey, what are you doing?" I say loudly, as I grab Riley's hand and pull her behind me.

Charlie: "Why don't you mind your own business? She's ours," he says, while trying to grab a hold of Riley's arm.

James: "Stop!" I yell at him.

Daniel: "I'll tell you what, you join us and I guarantee you'll have a lot of fun."

Riley's P.O.V

I am freaking out right now but so thank fun that James showed up.

James: "You guys make me sick. Let's go Riley."

As soon as James and I start walking one of the guys stops James and I could tell how mad he was making James and out of nowhere James punches the other guy so hard that made all of them run.

James turns around and faces me.

Riley: "Umm... thanks for saving me, I really-" suddenly he cuts me off.

James: "Just.. Don't say anything, you're welcome."

There is a moment of silence until he asks...

"I can give you a ride home."

Riley: "I'd like that, thanks."

James P.O.V

Riley and I walk towards my car and I open the door for her.

Riley: "Thank you."

I start driving and after a couple of minutes Riley speaks up...

"Look James. About today I'm really sorry about getting mad at you in class. Any chance you can forgive me?"

James: "Of course I can."

Riley: "Thanks. You can stop here. My house is the 5th one on this street."

We reach her house and she leaves. She's not that bad, I don't get why people dislike her, I guess she just doesn't let the world see who she really is... but I'll figure it out.
