Chapter 11 - New Additude

Riley's P.O.V

It was around 11:30am and Mr. Beaton was coming back and 12pm and I bet Emily would be returning home any time now.

(Stephanie's house)

Amanda's P.O.V

Stephanie: "So what time are you leaving?" She asks Emily.

Emily: "Umm.. At about 12:30pm. I want to make sure that my dad is home first and he sees that disaster that 'Riley' created."

Stephanie: "I can't wait to see Riley on Monday."

Amanda: "Me to."

Ceirra: "So Amanda.. Have you talked to James lately??" She asks in curiosity.

I was kind of mad at Cierra for bringing James up. They all think I have a major crush on James and to be honest it's true, I have had a crush on him since grade 6 and it's kind of hard hiding my feelings for him since we are good friends.

Stephanie: "Why don't you talk to James about becoming official? You've been friends since grade 6, plus you are the only one who doesn't have a boyfriend out of all of us. Even Cerria has a new boyfriend. What was his name..? Oh yeah, Max."

Emily: "They're right Amanda. I think you should tell James about how you feel. Plus, I bet there's no girl out there better than you for James."

Cerria: "And you two make a really cute couple."

Amanda: "You guys really think I should tell him?"

All the girls scream yes and I decide that I'll tell James about my feelings towards him after Emily's dad's wedding, mainly because it's happening soon and we're all going to be busy.

Emily: "Okay girls, I should be going. It's almost 12:30pm."

All the girls: "Bye."

Emily's P.O.V.

I walk into my drive way and see my dads car outside. This will be fun.

I enter the house and it's looks pretty clean. I'm not sure what to think. I walk towards the kitchen and see my dad making tea and he seems pretty happy.

Mr. Beaton: "Hello Em, how is my lovely daughter?"

I'm kind of confused.

Emily: "Umm... I'm fine dad, but how are you... I mean are you fine? Nothing that upset you when you came home?"

Mr. Beaton: "Yes. I'm actually feeling great."

Emily: "Wait. So nothing unusual or out of place?"

Mr. Beaton: "Are you feeling okay Emily?"

Emily: "Umm... Of course I am... I was just curious... You know... Me, Emily... Always being curious."

Mr. Beaton: "Okay then," he says while giving me a awkward look.

"Can you give this to Riley?" My dad hands me a plate with a sandwich and some fries. "Don't worry I made some for you too, but can you hand this to her? She's in her room."

I leave the kitchen and make my way to Riley's room. I enter in and see Riley lying on her stomach and listening to music while doing something on her laptop. She looked a bit different and not the bad kind of different, if you know what I mean. For the first time she was wearing more revealing clothes and was wearing makeup that didn't look crappy at all.

Suddenly she notice me standing at the door and she cheerfully runs up to me, says hello and gives me a hug before taking the plate of food.

Riley: "Hey almost to be my step-sister. How are you? Did you and girls have fun at Steph's house last night?"

She seemed super happy and didn't seem like the Riley who was always quiet and shy. "Why do you care?" I ask rudely. She comes and stands in front of me.

Riley: "Oh my gosh, is Emily in a bad mood?" She says in a very girlish voice and starts walking around
me."Did something happen? I mean.. like.. maybe... Did Hunter breakup with you? ... Or you lost something?... Or... Maybe... You planned something and it didn't turn out as you hoped it did?"

She comes back stands in front of me. "Come on Em, it has to be one of those."

Just as I'm about to speak Riley's phone rings. She runs to her phone and picks it up. "Oh I'm super sorry, but I can't talk to you right now. I have an important call. So do you mind?"

Just as I'm about to say anything, I realize I'm standing outside of Riley's room and she suddenly slams the door. I have never been treated like that my entire life. People do not tell me to leave, I do. But I honestly have no idea what's up with Riley. She starting to act like... me!

I close the door right in Emily's face. Honestly, after what she did to me, I'm so ready to get back at her. And for me to do that I need to bring in a new Riley. The Riley that is not the ugly, shy and worthless one, but a confident and hot Riley that will tear Emily apart.

Aside from that whole Emily drama I look down at my phone and see its James calling. I don't know if I should pick it up. I mean... I don't know what I should say to him but I pick it up anyways.

(Phone Conversation)

Riley: "Hello."

James: "Hey Riley, it's me James."

Riley: "I know... I mean... Hey James, what up?" That was kind of embarrassing.

James: "I was wondering if you wanted to hangout."

Riley: "Um... Sure, why not?"

James: "Great! I'll pick you up in about 2 hours."

Riley: "Okay. Bye."

James: "Bye."

I cut the phone and realize I need to find something to wear.
