Chapter 9 - Living with the Beatons

Riley's P.O.V.

It's been 3 days since I've moved in Emily's house and honestly it's the opposite from what I expected. I mean to say, that I thought Emily would be so unbearable and rude, but these past few days she's been acting super nice, even at school. She makes me hangout with her group, treats me like I'm her actual sister. It just all seems pretty weird, but my mom told me people can change, maybe Emily has changed or why else would she be so nice?

Today was Friday and I was at my locker since last period was over and I see Emily walk over to me.

Emily: "Hey Riley," she seemed super happy, almost too happy..

Riley: "Hey Emily," I say, while locking my locker.

Emily: "So I was wondering if you will like to come shopping with myself and the girls?"

Emily's P.O.V

The only reason I was asking Riley to come shopping was because I needed Riley to get a short, sexy dress, so when we go home I'll pretend to just dress her up and it will look like she was already dresses for the party. Plus, I had seen all her clothes and she had nothing too short or skin revealing.

Riley: "I don't know, I really just wanted to go home and-" I get cut off.

Emily: "Please Riley, we're only going for a few hours, not too long."

Riley: "Okay fine, I'll go."

Emily: "Okay, thank you."

She gives me a small hug, but it's not the first one today.

Riley: "I just need to give this to my history teacher so I'll meet you in the car."

Emily: " Sure, but hurry okay?"

I nod and she goes the opposite direction.

Riley's P.O.V.

I think I'm finally making some friends and getting a new and nicer step-sister. Everything is going great in my life right now.

Emily P.O.V.

I walk towards Stephanie's car and set in the front passenger seat.

Stephanie: "So.. Is she coming?"

Emily: "Yup. Did you guys invite everyone?"

Michelle: "Don't worry, we did. We also got some guys to DJ the party."

Emily: "That's great. Oh, and make sure you all try to convince Riley to buy a short, sexy dress."

All the girls: "Got it!"

Cierra: "Okay, okay. She's coming. Be nice."

She walks in and we all put on a fake smile.

Riley: "Hey guys."

All the girls: "Hey."

Emily: "Okay Riley's here, let's go!"

Riley's P.O.V

We reach the mall and for about an hour we hang out at most of the stores and go to the food court, and we eat some A&W. Right after, they take me to this one store that has many clothes that are really short or something I wouldn't wear.

Michelle: "Hey Riley, why don't you try this?"

I turn around and Michelle is holding a black lace fitted dress that looks really short.

Riley: "I don't know. It isn't really my style and the back of the dress is really deep and-"

Emily: "Come on Riley, just try it on."

All the girls start begging me to try it on, so I do.

When I come out, the girls try convincing me to buy the dress, so I do. Just so they don't get mad at me or something. After a couple of hours later Amanda drops myself and Emily home and I realize it's already 7pm.

Emily: "Hey Riley, I was really wanted to post pictures of me and you on Instagram, you know us almost-sisters, and I was wondering if we could do each other's makeup and hair and then take the pictures. I'll be so much fun!"

Riley: "Umm... Sure, why not?" I try to smile.

I wasn't really a fan of dressing up but I didn't what to sound rude or anything, so I agree.

Emily's P.O.V

I convince Riley to get ready first. So I make her put on the black dress we got from the mall today, curled her hair and did some really nice dark makeup with some red lipstick. To be honest she was actually looking hot, for once.

As soon as I'm done I look at the time and realize that it's almost 8 pm, which meant soon everyone will be here and Riley will be living her worst nightmare.
