For the first time in ever, Misha felt warm while entering this big mansion now as her home. She never felt it like more than a framework of walls. Despite the fact that she loved few people here, she never truly admired the feelings she shared with the house but today was exceptionally different.
She walked up to the hall while peeking sideways to the kitchen area to see if Niharika was there, but she pouted in disappointment as she couldn't spot her.
After being tired from the day at the office, she was just about to climb the stairs to reach her room when a feminine voice was heard from the other side of the hall.
"Misha."
She turned to the way and saw her mother-in-law approaching her with a generous smile. She was going to greet her but she felt frightened suddenly. Thinking it's highly inappropriate and wrong that a newly wedded bride is greeting her in-laws when a day is already about to end.
"Mother, I-m so- sorry I didn't greet you in the morning, you weren't home and we wer-"
"Hey-hey-hey, stop. Breathe dear, you just get home from a working day and are still worrying about the morning, I'd almost forgotten that."
Ashwita grinned before patting her shoulder afterwards. Relaxing Misha a little as she smiled back in response.
"I just wanted to ask you how did your day go? You look so tired."
"It was good, mother. Just working and enjoying." Misha said with an honest smile.
"You know everyone in the house answers the same, except Niharika. She's the only one who doesn't speak business at all." Ashwita laughed sincerely as Misha agreed with her point mentally.
"By the way, where is Ishaan? I've something to talk to him about, is he outside?"
Realization came crashing on her head like a truck. She was unprepared for this question as she'd almost forgotten about her husband for once.
Asking him in the office was equally impossible as explaining this situation to her mother-in-law right now. She went to the office without him- on her own and absolutely hadn't seen his face since morning, then was she supposed to come back with him?
Watching Misha not responding to her question, Ashwita was about to move in concern towards the main doors when Misha held her hand to stop her hastily.
"Mother, Ishaan is not there. I didn't come home with him." She couldn't think of any other reason and spoke nervously.
"You didn't come with him?" Ashwita shakes her head as if couldn't understand her words suddenly.
Misha shook her head in conformation. "He was busy with Shubh bhaiya in the office, so I thought what would I do there just sitting? So I came by."
If this gets into Ishaan's ear, he would definitely kill her for telling this to the family. She knew no matter how bad they were on their terms but they had to show everyone they're living a happily married life. For them, Ishaan was simply a persistent guy who wasn't ready to commit to this bond for a lifetime, but they didn't know it ends as soon as they walk into that room.
"Oh, that's not a big deal then. You go get refreshed now, I'll prepare the dinner ok."
"Okay- mother." Ashwita patted her head before leaving for the kitchen.
Misha sighed and turned before dragging herself upstairs to the room. She entered and shut the doors behind her, tiredly, and slacked on her way to the sofa.
Bed, sweet bed.
She threw herself on the sofa and sat there for a moment before throwing her back on the backrest. Sighing momentarily, then sprawled her legs and slipped forward on the base. Her back and neck bending in an awkward manner, strangely bringing comfort to her spine but that relief soon passed away as it started hurting again now almost everywhere in her spine.
