The next morning
Plainly and sorely, Misha made her way to the cubicle. It was a busy day in the office, everyone was rushing over the files, discussing every little thing among peers and organizations going as if it is the most ideal company in the world. After all, it was the day of the meeting finally.
Despite the jinks going everywhere in the company, Misha was working leisurely on her computer. A friend behind her freaking every there and then and seeing her one buddy sitting effortlessly, Aadila couldn't keep the voice to herself as she called her out. The former stopped on her way before turning. "Yes?"
"Misha, are you not tensed? The Goels are coming for the meeting today. The deal is finally going to be signed today for which we were all waiting and for so long... I'm scared, if even a slightest mistake is made from our side and anything goes downhill, we'll be fired for sure."
Listening to her words carefully, Misha pursed her lips in thought. "That's true, but why would there be a mistake? You guys have been preparing this for so long, everything will be fine. Don't think too much."
Aadila almost couldn't believe her ears on what she just heard. Was she the same girl drowned in worryness yesterday for the completion of the files?
"You're so calm because you are not a part of this meeting. If you also have to face all that we are going to, your thighs will sweat as well."
Shrugging her shoulders in retort, Misha protested. "It's not that, I have also prepared the presentation and data for the meeting."
"Still you're not scared?"
She sulked. "Before going home last night, I took the files to Natasha for approval. She checked them and didn't say anything, that means they were all correct. There was nothing to fix and I'm cleared from my side, so what's there to be scared of?"
"Friend, if you don't feel afraid, at least think about me!"
Before Misha could open her mouth to comfort her ally, an annoyed voice of a girl was heard from the third block of row in front of them.
"Aadila! Stop behaving like a crybaby! If you're feeling so scared then go and tell the boss that you will not be able to do it. At least let others do their work here!" Though her words were high pitched, she didn't say it like she was ready to pull a fight already.
That's why Aadila replied as if it was nothing. "Rushika, you've prepared everything right, that's why you're so chill."
"Isn't it great? Instead of crying and troubling everyone, I'm focusing on my work. So you better do the same. Focus on your preparations."
Realising there's nothing more she could say, Aadila pouted sadly, losing the battle. Seeing her friend upset and tense like this, Misha stood from her seat before caressing her shoulder and solaced. "Take a moment to relax, I'll go make a cup of coffee for you."
Hearing this, Aadila's lips curled up with emotional admiration for Misha and she nodded with love.
Misha swirled around to move, but limped with the bandage still draped around her foot. Seeing her leg abnormal, Aadila frowned in concern as she hadn't paid attention to it before when they had arrived. She ran and stopped Misha immediately who was already on her way to the kitchen. "Misha, what happened to your foot?"
Seeing Aadila jumping in front of her, Misha paused. "Nothing, it just got sprained last night but I'm fine now." Atleast, she was now able to walk on both of her limbs alone.
"But you're hurt."
"I'm okay Aadila, it's not hurting anymore. I have tied it just for protection. I'm fine so sit here, I'll bring you a coffee quickly." Misha assured her with a smile before leaving as Aadila looked at her back with concern but came back eventually.
