A ginormous tree overlooked the river. Their bikes were right beside the giant roots of the tree. "Let's cross. I will go first. We can use the rocks like a bridge." said Carol. She placed her foot on the first rock. "So far so good." She walked onto all the rocks carefully, concentrating. She reached the other side of the river safely. "You can cross!" she shouted from the base of the tree. The others slowly followed. "This is crazy!" exclaimed Astrid, and in doing so she almost slipped on the last rock. Luckily, Amara caught her in time before she plunged into the ice-cold water. "Thanks," she said, as the girls breathed a sigh of relief. As they approached the tree, the girls were in awe, totally forgetting about the bikes. Astrid noticed there were stone stairs behind one of the statues leading up into the tree. "Wow! See that?" Dana pointed it. The girls drew their attention to the direction that Dana pointed. There was a sort of wood structure poking out. "Let's climb up!" Astrid shouted, over the sound of the river. "Isn't this the part in an adventure movie when the main characters discover something strange and end up lost in the woods?" Carol said, stepping up reluctantly. "Yeah well, this isn't that type of movie, Jones...I hope," said Dana. They climbed up the steps until they were above the tree's middle branches. "This is awesome!" said Amara. The view was breathtaking. They were so mesmerized that they didn't notice what was behind them. Dana stepped backward and tripped over some wood. Astrid went over to help her up. "You oka-" she looked up and noticed a large structure. Someone had made a wooden shack above the tall tree. "What is this?" said Carol. "It's like a treehouse!" said Amara. "Let's go in," Dana said

"Wouldn't that be rude?" said Astrid.

"Someone must own this place" replied Carol

"It looks like no one has been here in a while. It wouldn't hurt if we checked it out," said Amara, shrugging

They entered the tiny shack. A musty smell drifted in the air. Some discarded slippers and suitcases in the corner were covered with a thick layer of dust. On the wall stood a large wooden bookcase. "It seems like this place has been abandoned for quite a long time." Astrid started examining the bookcase, reading the titles of the books out loud. Again Carol took out her camera and started snapping photos. "These books look really old," said Carol. Astrid kept going until she stopped short. "Guys, look at this." She ran her fingers carefully through a large book that was covered with thick leather. She read the title aloud "The 4 stones...this seems interesting." When she pulled on the book the girls heard a loud click followed by the sound of a series of cogs spinning. Slowly the bookshelf started splitting in two. "Yup...total adventure movie."
