“Should we be concerned about that?” Carol asked him.

“I told you, we should be concerned about the weapon in general,” he answered.

Astrid huffed. “And I told you, I’ve got this,” she said dismissively. “Did you guys find your weapons by the way?” Just as she finished that sentence, an arrow sailed over her head and impaled itself on the wall behind her. Shocked, she turned to the source. Amara stood there with a smile on her face, holding the string of a wooden bow. A quiver lay at her feet. The bow itself seemed to be made out of dark wood. Vine designs etched in silver wrapped around it, and the riser was made out of dark leather. Astrid was at a loss for words. Amara just smiled. “Yes, I think I did.”

“Okay, so we have Hiccup, Claire Nuñez and Katniss Evergreen so far,” Dana said, gesturing to the three (one really confused plus two annoyed) teens. She turned to Carol. “Who’s next? Joan of Arc or…wait don’t tell me…Thalia Grace?” she told her, pointing to Carol’s sword. Carol pulled it out of its sheath and inspected it. “While that would be cool…” she said, directing the sword to a crate. She closed her eyes and her weapon glowed blue. An icy beam shot out and blasted the box, leaving frost in its wake. Dana stared at the box, her mouth agape. “Killer Frost?” she said, grinning. Carol shrugged, matching Dana’s grin.

Hunter kicked a shield that was at his feet. “I have no idea who are what you just mentioned,” He said. “But, what about you? We’re all armed and ready.”

Dana spun around on the heels of her feet to face him and clicked her tongue. “Dunno yet.”

Amara raised an eyebrow. “You know, out of all people, I thought you’d be the first to pick one out.”

Dana lifted one shoulder nonchalantly and she walked around the room. “I know! But I can’t seem to find the right one. I mean, I did almost blow up this place,” she said, gesturing to the holes in the wall that were yet to be dealt with.  She leaned against the wall and scanned the room.

“Maybe your weapon might,” Astrid said, and she cast a glance at Hunter. “Find you” she said sarcastically, making finger quotes in the air. Hunter scoffed. “Oh, come on Astrid…seriously?” he said.

“We’re running out of time. You should get looking,” Carol said. “It’s not like it would fall out of the sky.” (oooohhhhh foreshadowing)

Dana groaned and threw her head backwards against the wall. “Ouch,” she muttered, rubbing the back of her head. Just then, a shelf on top of her, which was held in place by a flimsy screw, came loose, and the items that were perched on top rolled and clattered to the floor. One black cylindrical thing falling on top of Dana’s head. “What the-OWWWW!” she yelped, rubbing the back of her now sore head.

Carol snorted. “You good?” she asked her. Dana glared at her. “No, yeah, I’m good. It’s not like I hit my head several times already,” she said, every word dripping with sarcasm.

“That might be good. Maybe hitting your head so many times jogged some sense into you,” Astrid said, a smirk evident on her face.

“Wowww…Amara, please back me up here!”

“Nah, you’re good,” Amara said with a smile, picking up some of the objects that fell on the floor. Hunter was on the ground, laughing.
