Before we got to Mr. Salvatore's room, Nemona practically barreled into us from behind. "Yooooooo! Z! How's it going?" She hugged me from behind and practically spun me around, and doing so separated mine and Arven's hands.

"Woahh- uh- hey, Nemona!"

She released me, and politely nodded at Arven. He rolled his eyes. "I'll meet you inside," he said to me, slipping into the classroom.

Nemona stared after him. "What's up his ass this morning?" she asked sarcastically, shaking her head. "Anyways! Z! We should have a Pokemon battle! It's been forever, and you've been so busy with those silly Herba Mystica." she tossed one of her Pokeballs from one hand to the other, giving me a bright-eyed stare.

"Um.. maybe after class? We have break after this, and-"

"Cool! I'll meet you in the schoolyard!" she dashed off, bumping into people and quickly disappearing among the bustling crowd.

I sighed. Guess I'll have to pep up my Pokemon before Nemona's battle. I opened the class door and entered.

Mr. Salvatore was already in the front, shuffling some papers. Arven was scribbling some last-minute notes on a piece of scrap paper, as were a few other students. I plopped down in the seat next to Arven, pulling out a few sheets of paper.

He paused his note-taking momentarily, and I saw him glance at me from the corner of his eye. "What did she want?"

I shrugged. "You're seriously asking? It's Nemona we're talking about."

Arven put down his pencil and smirked. "So you've got a battle with Nemona to look forward to?"

I nodded. "Yeah. She's pretty persistent- I can't really avoid it forever."

Arven grunted, putting his arms behind his head. "Before class starts, I need to ask you something."

"Oh yeah? What'cha need?"

Arven avoided my eyes, his face going red. "I-"

Before he could continue, Mr. Salvatore clapped her hands together. "Ok, everyone! I hope you remembered to go over what I taught in class yesterday!"

Arven didn't continue what he was going to say. I wonder what was on his mind.
