[17] Area Zero

Area Zero was beautiful- the entire area seemed to be Terastallized, with Tera Jewels at the bases of most trees, clinging to cliff walls, and poking through the dirt. "I never knew that inside the Crater was so... pretty." I murmured. "It's like..."

"It's like a dreamscape.." Penny finished my sentence. She had her Sylveon walking alongside her, and she looked just as awestruck that Penny did.

I had Hunter out of his ball, just for a bit more security. "Something down here scared Miraidon so badly it's not coming out of its Pokeball." Arven was murmuring to himself, glancing around anxiously.

Nemona, on the other hand, was bouncing around ecstatically. "I wonder what Pokemon we'll see here? Maybe something super strong! Ooooh what's that?!" She had almost no self preservation skills, despite being a Champion ranked trainer.

"N-Nemona, get back here!" Penny shouted. "You'll hurt yourself!"

Nemona, being the incredibly smart person she was, spun around and stuck her tongue out at Penny, still running but backwards. "Pffftbble, I know what I'm doi-" she started, but didn't finish.

She lost her balance on the uneven ground and stumbled backwards. The ground had started sloping downward, and she fell. "Nemona! That f#¢k!ng idiot-!" Arven cursed.

"Hunter, go get her!" I shouted.

My Arcanine nodded, bolting forward. He reached Nemona before she hit the ground, preventing her from hurting herself even more. "Uuff-"

"Nemona! Are you OK?" Penny called.

Nemona practically bounced back up. "Never better! If anything, that fall toughened me up!"

Penny leaned over to me and whispered, "I think she hit her head when she fell."

I rolled my eyes playfully, and ran down to Nemona. I held my hand out to her to hoist her up. "Ay, gracias amigo." she said, grunting slightly as she pushed herself to her feet. "I'll admit, that was pretty reckless."

Behind us, Arven and Penny gasped. "Z, Nemona!" Penny shouted. "Look out!"

We spun around, and stumbled back a few paces. Above us, a wild Glimmora floated down to us. Its bright yellow eyes seemed to be fixed on us. "Fwwww.." This Pokemon... La Primera had one, and I had seen multiple Glimmets out in the wild. But Glimmora...

Hunter jumped in front of us, growling. Nemona took out one of her Pokeball. "Let's take out this Glimmora on together, Z!" Nemona exclaimed, sending out her Lycanroc. I nodded, grinning.

I returned Hunter to his Pokeball, and Nemona returned her Lycanroc. The Glimmora looked panicked, and it pulsated(???) away slowly, drifting down into the depths of Area Zero.

"Look! There's the research station!" Penny exclaimed, running down to us. "Nice battlin', by the way."

Arven was close behind Penny, grinning from ear to ear. "What's with that goofy smile, huh?" I teased him, lightly punching him in the shoulder.

Arven shrugged. "Well, I just saw my little buddy- who happens to be a Champion ranked trainer- take on the dangers of Area Zero." he grinned some more. "I'm kiiiinda proud of you."

I blushed, rubbing the back of my head in an embarrassed fashion. "Oh. Heh, thanks."

Arven ruffled my hair, messing it up. "C'mon, let's go check out that research station!" he brushed past me, running to the research station.

Penny ran to catch up to him, shouting "Oi, stop running!"

Nemona walked up beside me, a sly look on her face. "Not even a day, and you two amantes are all over each other."
