"I'm so glad you're celebrating here mija!" my mom hugged me, spinning me around. "You have no idea how happy I am for you!"
I laughed. "Yeah. Becoming a Champion-ranked trainer and documenting the Herba Mystica-"
"Aye mija! You've done so much in every region we've been in!" Mamá drummed her fingers on the table. "Our time in Alola and Galar was really interesting."
The doorbell rang once, then it sounded like someone was trying to break down the door with a sledgehammer. "Z!!!! We're heeeere~!"
I stood up. "Looks like Nemona is here. Don't mind her, she's really.."
Mamá laughed. "Oh, believe me mija, you were quite a goober."
I scrunched my nose at her comment, and turn to open the door for Nemona. When it opened, Nemona practically barreled through. "We're heeeere~"
"I had a feeling someone was at the door." I said sarcastically.
Behind Nemona, Penny and Arven stood there. They appeared to be bickering quietly, but they both stopped when I ushered them inside. "H-hi Z." Penny mumbled, waving to me awkwardly.
"Z! Bud!" Arven ruffled my hair as he walked past. "So this is where you live?"
Nemona socked him in the shoulder. "Be more polite!" she hissed, and proceeded to run up the stairs and into my room.
"Nemona, w-wait-!" Penny ran after her. "You j-just said to be polite-!"
Arven sighed. "Those two are a handful."
"You say that as if you're their dad." I observed.
Mamá laughed. "Oh Z, mija. I was a bit nervous you wouldn't make many friends, especially because Hau, Lillie and Hop meant so much to you. But it appears you made some reliable friends." she patted Arven on the shoulder. "I'll start working on dinner!" she walked into the kitchen.
Arven and I exchanged glances. "Let's go to my room.. Make sure Nemona isn't going through my journals or something." I laughed.
Arven nodded. "Sounds like Nemona, honestly." he rolled his eyes.
I raced up the stairs and opened my door, which was decorated with various posters, drawings of mine, stickers, and a few trainer cards I'd gotten from Galar (specifically Leon's rare trainer card, signed by him).
Arven whistled. "Nice decor."
"You haven't even seen the interior of the room itself!" I opened the door to a very suspicious scene.
Nemona stood up straight, and Penny was sitting on one of my beanbags. Nemona looked like she had been getting into something, and she smiled sheepishly at me. "Heyy Z! Arven! What's up?"
Penny sighed, playing with her phone. "Nemona.."
"Shh!"
I eyed the two of them suspiciously, but said nothing. "Okayyy. I take it you guys poked around my room?"
"No!" Nemona hurriedly exclaimed, at the same time that Penny said "Yeah."
Arven snorted, and sat on my bed. "You two are trouble," he remarked.
My room had been decorated with all sorts of things- posters of various Champions in various regions (Cynthia, Leon, and La Primera specifically) a bulletin board full of pictures of friends in other regions, drawings of my Pokemon teams in other regions, and random things I'd made.
My bedsheets was a pattern of Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar. I had a big Gengar beanbag, a life-sized Dragapult plushie, and a carpet. My desk was full of various things, like a two-monitor PC setup, multiple Pokemon figurines, and some notebooks-
