Nemona was still asleep, but Penny was sitting up. She had her Sylveon in her lap, and she was scrolling through her phone (like usual). She looked up when the door opened, and smirked.
"You t-two were gone for a bit," she commented. "What'cha guys do with your alone time?"
"N-nothing!" Arven whisper-yelled, at the same time that I said "None of your business!"
Penny shrugged, raising her hands non-threateningly. "I'm just curious." Then, after a small pause, she grinned. "It's about time you two got together."
"What do you mean by that..?!" I asked. "Was I that obvious?"
Penny scoffed. "You guys, believe it or not, have been all over each other. Hand-holding, headpats, hugs, shoulder-leaning.."
Arven looked dumbfounded. "Were you really paying that much attention to us, Penny?"
"How could I not?" Penny laughed. "You guys are way too obvious."
"Mmhhggg..!" Nemona swatted Penny with her pillow. "You're too loud."
"I'M too loud- ugh, never mind. What time is it, anyway?"
I checked my Ghost-type themed wall clock. "6:32?" I guessed. "I'm not 100% good at telling clock-time."
Penny scoffed. "It's 6:40, actually."
"If you already knew then why'd you ask?" Arven retorted. "You have your Rotom Phone out!"
Penny stuck her tongue out at him. "It's called being annoying. You're actually quite good at doing it, Arven."
Arven brislted. "I am NOT-"
I threw a pillow at Arven's head. "Shhh! My mamá is still asleep, and if we wake her up before seven she'll be pissed!"
Nemona practically slapped her hands over her mouth. "Lo siento..!" she whispered, almost dramatically quiet.
The conversations continued in hushed whispers until my mamá creaked open the door and poked her head inside. "Buenos dias! Did you four sleep well?"
"Yup!" Nemona exclaimed, happy to finally have an excuse to be loud.
"I guess." Penny said halfheartedly.
"F-for sure!" Arven stammered, shooting a glance at me.
"Y'huh!" I said cheerily.
Mamá smiled. "Good. Unfortunately, this was sprung on me pretty last minute. I didn't have any time to go down to the store.."
Arven perked up. "Ah! Believe it or not, I have some stuff for food!" he exclaimed. "I always have ingredients for meals on me!"
Mamá smiled at him. "I'm so glad Z has such a good young man like you to help them through life."
My face went red. "Mamá, what do you mean by that..?"
Mamá winked at me. "I was up really early, mija." she replied simply. "Come then, Arven- let's get breakfast going!" she left the room, leaving everyone in a stunned silence.
Arven and I sat there, and Penny and Nemona stared at us with goofy smiles. "So, it's official?" Nemona exclaimed. "Finalmente! I've been rooting for you two forever!"
Arven stood up suddenly. "I-I'm going to help Z's mom with breakfast.." he murmured, rushing out of the room.
Once he was out of the room and out of earshot, I turned to Nemona and Penny and exclaimed, "You have no idea how long I've wanted to ask him out!"
Nemona laughed. "En serio? I realized you had a thing for him the moment I saw you battle him by the lighthouse."
Penny nodded. "You never shut up about him whenever I stopped by. Always talking about the Titans, his sandwiches.."
I blushed. "Was I really that obvious..?"
"Oh yeah," Nemona said. "He was slightly more secretive than you were, but I figured him out pretty quickly."
I sat in a dizzy silence for a moment, reeling in the fact that my feelings for Arven hadn't been hidden as well as I thought. "Holy Arceus.."
Penny shrugged. "Look on the bright side, Z- all that built up and you were able to have a sweet, romantic, cheesy fanfiction material."
"W-what?"
Penny shook her head. "Don't think into it too much."
A/N: The chapter is a bit shorter for two reasons- one, I wanted to get something out and two- I want to move past this scene, so BOOM. Chapter haha.
Remember to drink water, sleep well, and eat something! I love you all!
