It was four in the morning, and I was still awake. Nemona was sleeping pretty soundly, holding onto Penny like a stuffed animal. Since Nemona had fallen asleep before Penny, Penny didn't want to wake her up. I was surprised she cared, honestly. Arven had bundled up in his sleeping bag, and he'd fallen asleep just an hour ago.

I stood up, stretching. I don't think I'm gonna fall asleep anytime soon.. I thought. Ugh.

I left my room silently, and tip-toed down the stairs. I opened the front door and made my way out onto the porch. The wooden overhang had Tarountula hanging off them, snoozing away.

I yawned, and watched the stars for a while.

The front door creaked open, and I jumped. Everyone in the house is asleep! I thought fearfully.

Instead of somebody I didn't know poking their head out of the door, it was Arven. His usually neat and well-done hair was messy. "Z..? I heard you leave the room. What're you doing out here?"

I blinked, surprised to see him awake. "Oh. I.. couldn't sleep."

Arven sat down next to me, yawning. "You woke me up when you left the room. You're not very sneaky, y'know."

I stared at the floor, embarrassed. "O-oh. Sorry."

Arven shrugged. "I don't mind. I'd rather be with you, honestly."

A few moments of silence passed, with the two of us watching the stars. I don't know what came over me, but I turned to Arven suddenly. At the same moment, he grabbed my hands. "A-Arven-!"

He stared at the ground for a moment, then looked up to meet my eyes. "Z.. I- I really, really like you!"

Arven's face was red, and I could feel my own face heat up. "Before you say anything, I totally understand if you don't feel the same way at all. I know that time we- we held hands and whatnot was a one-off thing, but..."

"Arven, I- I feel the exact same way..! I was- I was gonna tell you, but I've always been so scared you'd- you wouldn't feel the same way, and I didn't want to ruin our friendship.."

Arven smiled shyly. "Then.. what are we, Z?"

"We're whatever this makes us."

"What do you mean, th-" Arven started, but I interrupted him with a kiss.

Arven stiffened, but didn't pull back. His eyes were wide and his face was red. When I pulled back, we both stared at each other for a couple heartbeats. Arven grinned. "CRIKEY..!"

"I can't believe I just did that.." I murmured, covering my face with my hands. "I can't believe I just did that..!"

Arven covered his mouth with his hand, eyes still wide. "I can't believe I just said that!" he exclaimed. "'Crikey'?! Be cooler next time, Arven..!"

I laughed. "You've always been cool." I murmured. Then, I laughed nervously. "So.. then.. What does that make us..?" I asked hesitantly, afraid to ruin the moment.

Arven paused for a moment, and he smiled. He moved his hand up to my cheek, and I rested my face in it. His hand was warm against my cold face. "We're whatever you feel comfortable with being."

I sighed, living in this moment. "You have no idea how long I've wanted this." I breathed softly, not wanting to ruin this perfect moment.

After a while of holding each other, I realized he'd fallen asleep. "Oh," I didn't want to wake him up, but I also didn't want to explain to my mamá why Arven and I were outside, on the porch, cuddling.

"Hey, Arven- wake up!" I shook him gently. "Arvenn!"

"Mhruruhhahbvbbmle?" he mumbled, lifting his head up slowly. "Z?"

"Morning, sleepyhead. We gotta get back up to my room before anyone else wakes up." I stood up, pulling him up with me.

Arven groaned, leaning onto my shoulder. "I'm so tired though, Z.."

I laughed softly. "I know you are. I am too. Let's get back upstairs, huh?" I guided him up the stairs, mostly because he wasn't letting go of me.

Just before we got into my room, Arven stood up straight. "Z.. what happened earlier actually happened, right? I'm not just imagining it?"

I blushed, nodded. "It did happen. You're not imagining it."

Arven sighed in relief. "Ok. I was just worried I'd been dreaming."

I smiled. "Same here." I said as I quietly opened the door to my room.
