Then

"Satisfying, isn't it?" Oyabun asks with a grin as he prunes the unwanted growth of the bonsai tree. Izuku looks at the man with a satisfying smile on his face and with an extra pair of pruners in his hand and replies, "You're right about that". It has been six months since he had started living at the compound and to say that his life was uneventful was definitely the correct thing to say. While he was in the compound, except for Mori-san and Sakuragi-san and occasionally Oyabun, he didn't interact with anyone else. His schedule only included school, job, training and nothing else. Mori-san kept him up to date with his training and Izuku helped him by keeping his nose out of the gang's business. Right now, he was with the head of the Shie Hassaikai, helping him tend his bonsai collection.

Who would have thought that Izuku would find peace and satisfaction in tending bonsai? What started as a simple gesture of help, now was an avid hobby for the green haired boy and the head of the Yakuza was more than happy to have him around. If the passion of heroes represented Izuku's chaotic side, his newly found passion for bonsai and plants seemed to represent his calmer nature.

"So, tell me... how's the school treating you?" Oyabun asks and Izuku's face sours a bit at the very mention of the school and it nearly causes him to cut a branch wrongly. For someone out of context, this might come off as the boss trying to make some idle chat to fill in the silence, but that was not the case here.

"It's fine", Izuku replies to which the man, without looking at him, replies, "You don't seem fine". Izuku couldn't help but grumble in distaste. Can you blame him though!? His new high school was not as bad as Aldera, but it was not good either. He got a lot of flak from teachers but not for the right reasons. Due to his reputation sabotage by his previous school, he would be a one of the prime suspects if anything goes down. So, he was considered an unofficial delinquent at his new place.

Oyabun, even though he noticed his reluctance, decided to ignore it and asked, "Did you make any new friends though?"

"No", Izuku replies honestly.

"Did you at least try?" Oyabun asks, to which the green haired boy replies, "No. It doesn't matter if I try or not. It's always the same". The green haired boy did his best to keep his identity as quirkless as much hidden as possible. Nowadays, whenever someone tries to make friends, they ask these three questions. 'What is your name?' , 'Where are you from?' and 'What is your quirk?' . At the end of the day, it was all about quirks. If having a quirk was one of the main criterias to have friends, then he was better off being friendless. His mother wouldn't want him to end up like that but this was something he couldn't help. So he didn't even bother to try to make friends. Some did approach, but as soon as they came to know that he was quirkless, they would excuse themselves and Izuku would never see them for the rest of his life.

From there, everyone in the high school came to know that Izuku Midoriya of the class 1-F is a quirkless boy. Some third years tried to monopolize this and came forward to bully him, but six months of numbing his hands and practicing kickboxing ended up with those seniors with a black eye and a swollen jaw. From there, everyone in the school came to know that Izuku was not someone you would mess with. The boy always fought as if his life depended on it and considering the field he was planning to go to, it was necessary. Well the saving grace of this school was that there was no one who had flashy quirks so many of them were kinda grounded here.

"I would like you to make some friends at least", Oyabun says to which Izuku replies, "No one wants to be friends with a quirkless and I've you, Sakuragi-san and Mori-san for my friends".

"Hmmm... I wouldn't call myself your friend..... I'm more like a grandfather. Yuu-kun is more like your brother, and Kintaro.... He comes off more as an uncle than a parent. I want you to have friends of your own age group", Oyabun says to which Izuku doesn't say anything but he simply looks down at his feet. The man simply smiles and while pointing at one of his flowering bonsai, he says, "Izuku, look at that bonsai".
