Chapter 2 : The Bad Day Part 1

Year: 2323

"I know that you are in middle school and there is still a lot of time for you guys to decide what stream you are going to join, but it's time for you to think seriously about your future", the teacher says as he looks down at the stack of paper. But Izuku simply ignored him as he went on to write in his book. The fight he saw while on his way to his school was too good to pass. From the giant villain's appearance to Kamui Woods' entrance to the debut of the new heroine Mt. Lady, the data he gained from that encounter was very vital for his future.

"I'll pass out handouts for your future plans now. Consider this as a mock for your career counseling which would happen in high schools, but...", the teacher then looks up and with a flick of his hands, scatters the papers in the air and says, "you're all pretty much planning for the hero course, right?" and everyone in the class screamed out a cheer. Izuku momentarily looks up. He grimaces a bit as he sees everyone start to show off their quirks. In his mind, he wanted to call out how they were blatantly performing illegal quirk usage, but him being meek didn't help him. Feeling a little bit jealous was also not helping him either, but he doesn't say a word. He looks back down on his book.

"Yeah, yeah I know that you guys have wonderful quirks", the teacher says with an enthusiastic voice, which was too much in Izuku's eyes and he continues to say, "But using quirks at school is against the rules".

'You shouldn't have encouraged them in the first place' , Izuku thinks back. Suddenly a too familiar voice fills the green haired boy's ears exclaiming, "Teach! Don't lump us all in the same group". The quirkless boy looks in the direction of his friend, Katsuki Bakugou. Well... he considered him his friend. Izuku was not sure what Kacchan felt about him.

Katsuki Bakugou. Kacchan. Izuku was familiar with him since they were kids. It was safe to assume that he used to be his best friend. But everything changed when Katsuki turned four and his quirk manifested. His quirk, Explosions caused Katsuki to explode his sweat, which had nitroglycerin like properties. Izuku definitely found his quirk cool and hero-like. But at the same time, somewhere in his mind, Izuku resented Katsuki's quirk. Because of that very quirk, he turned his back to him and from a best friend, he became a best fiend.

"I'm not gonna be stuck at the bottom with the rest of the rejects!" Bakugou says with a huge grin on his face. Few of the classmates get angry and exclaim, "That was uncalled for, Bakugou!"

"You all should shut up like the extras you are!" Bakugou cackles.

"Oh! If I remember correctly, you want to go to the U.A. University, right, Bakugou?" the teacher says with the papers in his hand, but Izuku knew pretty well that the papers would have never scattered in the first place. The teacher's quirk allowed him to never make a mess.

"U.A. University!? That National College!? Their acceptance rate is really low, you know", a guy next to Katsuki states in shock, but it was not a shock to Izuku. Katsuki has always aimed for the top, and since UA was a top university, which was regarded as one of the best not only in Japan, but the entire world.

"That's exactly why you guys are just extras!", Katsuki exclaims and he jumps on his desk and says, "I have aced the mock test. I'm the only one at the school who could possibly get into UA".

'Even I have aced the mock test. You don't see me bragging about it, do you? Also aren't you being hasty calling every extras? There are still three years, you know. Anything can happen in those three years' , Izuku thinks as he looks at Katsuki.

"I'll definitely surpass All Might and become a top hero! My name will be inscribed on the list of top rankers!" Katsuki screams at the top of his voice, and Izuku couldn't help but wince at his shouting.
