Now
"Come on! How the hell was Izuku not aware of what a Yakuza is!? Even a kid in a kindergarten knows what it is!?" Reina exclaims, nearly slamming her fists on the table. In the past two hours, she has been finding herself being very much impulsive and as much as she knew, this was the freaking prologue or initial chapter's of Izuku's life. She might lose her mind as they come to the conclusion, provided if they reach the conclusion today.
Seiran, with her usual collected demeanor, simply smiles and says, "On 2nd December of the year 1993, when the Columbian drug lord, the king of cocaine, Pablo Escobar was assassinated, it created a power vacuum which many rival cartels tried to take advantage of. We might not want to believe it, but the existence of Yakuza helped the police more than it did harm. If Yakuza didn't exist, foreign crime gangs like Chinese Triads, Italian Mobs, Mexican Cartels, Russian Mafia and many others would have been able to strengthen and deepen their roots in the Japanese soil. So it's a necessary evil we must entertain".
"But that still doesn't explain why Izuku is not aware of their existence", Reina retorts to which the elderly journalist replies, "But that was not the case in the 2100s when quirks started to appear all over the world. The rise of villains increased to such ten fold that Yakuza just lost their influence. Police instead of undermining such organized criminals were more focused on villains and thus these organizations just lost their place in the food chain. Yakuza didn't lose their money during Izuku's time but their glory days were a thing of the past. They became a shell of their former selves and these groups need the reputation more than anything in order to thrive. With every passing generation, the people were taught about the safety and glory of heroes and their stories were so bright that they couldn't see the darkness of such groups".
"So... by getting rid of the quirks, Izuku indirectly brought Yakuza back into the limelight", Reina concludes to which Seiran simply nods and says, "Yes. I won't deny that. Izuku's plan to get rid of quirks did have these kinds of setbacks. But let me tell you, these are the setbacks he actually saw coming a mile away and he in fact prepared backups for them thoroughly".
"And I believe you won't reveal those backups anytime soon?" Reina asks hopefully to which a cheeky grin grows on the senior journalist and she replies, "We will get there when we get there". The chief editor couldn't help but grumble as one of her crew came in to replace the empty glass with a filled one. How many glasses did she consume? She had no idea of that but her bladder was not giving her the signal, so she knew that she could still continue.
"So did Izuku join them?" Reina asks to which Seiran replies, "Well, he did decide to pay them a visit out of respect".

Then
Izuku couldn't help but look at the massive compound which was towering over him. Everything about the place screamed to him about a bad guy's lair. The amount of security cameras and surprisingly lack of personnel unnerved him a lot. The compound wall was at least 10 to 12 feet tall and the only entrance the green haired boy could see was a traditional Japanese gate. The plaque at the outside read 'Shie Hassaikai' in golden kanji and the very sound of the name made Izuku feel only one thing.
Power.
But at the same time for no freaking idea, Izuku was very much intrigued by this place. Something about the place drawed him in like moths to a light. It was like a hardcore marvel comics fan discovering the glory of dc comics and Izuku knows very well that both are good. But the way Mori-san described the place and history was very much disturbing. Freelancer? Private Detective? Drug Dealer!? Brothel Owners!? Protection Racket!? Bodyguards!? Yakuza's history was pretty disturbing considering what he heard from Mori-san and as much as he proclaims that they have stopped doing that, that they have a moral code and how they were now regarded as a public nuisance, it was not enough to soothe Izuku's paranoia.
