Now
"This is where Izuku's journey truly starts", Seiran says as she leans back a bit and a satisfying smile grows on her face as she feels her back pop. But Reina was feeling different. Her head was on her hands, still trying to process everything that just transpired. And to top it off, her body was tired. She was used to working overtime many times considering how the studio was always open 24x7. Sometimes her fellow reporters couldn't be there on time and she would fill in for them, but she never felt this tired. Izuku's journey was definitely exhausting to her.
"This... this is a lot. From coming to know that David Shield was actually murdered to finding out that it was not a villain but a child that caused the earthquake.... That's a lot. And not to forget, the Quirk Doomsday Theory. I believe if Izuku didn't do what he did, then we wouldn't have been here. It's mind boggling to know that we owe our existence to a mere man who people considered insignificant. This just makes me admire him a lot", says Reina as she drinks the last sip of her coffee.
"Now you can understand why I want the people to know this story. He has sacrificed so much for us. Only the people in his close circle and his enemies were the only ones who were aware of this. The difference is that Izuku's friends tried to preserve his legacy while his enemies tried to erase it. But I won't let it happen. I won't let his efforts go down the drain", Seiran says and the chief editor couldn't help but look at the senior journalist with awe. And that awe made her even more curious. If Seiran knows so much about him, then what was Seiran for Izuku? Was she part of his circle if she knew his life so well? Was she yet to appear in the story or was she purposely omitting herself out of the narrative? What was her role in all this drama?
Before she could ask, Reina's boss shouts, "CUT!". This causes the younger woman to jump and she looks at her boss with an accusatory look on her face. Akira-san simply sighs and says, "I know that you are curious, Reina, but we have already decided that we would stop at 9PM. Seiran and Naoki live outside the city so they have to travel a lot. We can continue with the story at a later date".
This causes the chief editor to deflate immediately. As much as she wanted to continue this interview, her boss was right. It was already late and Seiran-san was an elderly person. Not to forget, many people were sticking around even after their working hours. Also her mom was waiting for her, and they had already decided that they would at least have dinner together every night.
Reina simply lets out a sigh and says, "You are right. We shouldn't hold them here". Akira-san simply nodded and the senior journalist chose that moment to get up from her seat using her walking stick for support. Naoki swoops in to assist his grandaunt but she motions him that she didn't need help. She then walks towards the chief editor and as she pats her shoulder, she says, "It's a pity that we have to leave now just when we are getting to the good part".
"Yeah... I was absolutely hooked", Reina replies honestly.
For a second, Seiran gains a distant look on her face as if she was pondering and suddenly, she looks at her old friend and asks, "Hey Akira-kun, what if we continue the interview at my place?"
This causes the head of the news studio to be taken aback and he asks, "Are you sure, Seiran? We don't want to impose on you. What about your family?"
"My family is always away most of the time. It's just me and Naoki and the maids. Also we have enough space to host the entire crew. Believe me, it won't be a problem for us", was the reply Seiran gave.
