Then
"Thank you, officer. I will make sure that he understands. I'm sorry for all the trouble he had caused", Izuku hears his mother apologize as he was made to wait at the dining table. As promised, the police officers came with him to have a word with his mother and honestly speaking, he was not fond of the thought of it. Inko Midoriya was everything. She is a good cook, a good and caring mother, a hardworking woman, but supportive... Izuku was not sure about that. Izuku preferred to not rely on her support. While financially he was forced to rely on her considering the law stated that a child should be around 15 years of age to work legally, considering the job was a dangerous job (the above law was null when it comes to motion pictures and theaters), but when it came to emotional support, he rather suffer alone.
Izuku loved his mother. There is no denying that. In fact he considered himself lucky to have her as his mother. Compared to cases of abandonment, abuse or outright trafficking he had come across on the world wide web, he considered himself blessed to have her. But deep down he also kinda resented her. He resented her for not supporting him when he needed it the most. He resented her for apologizing rather than encouraging him. That is why he never relied on her when he came back from the school with bruises. He never talked to her about bullying and subtle sabotaging of his grades. What could she do? Look at him with pity? Fight the system? No thanks... Izuku was fine with the treatment he was receiving now.
But deep down, he also blamed himself for the problems he had caused her. The amount of money that went in to replace his destroyed study materials. The money that went in to repair his uniform. Many times Izuku even contemplated running away so that he won't be a financial burden but he decided against it because he was very sure that doing that would make her even more miserable.
He was brought out of his revere when suddenly his ears filled with the sound of the main door closing and the sounds of the footsteps closing in towards the dining. The green haired boy makes the move of getting up from his seat, when suddenly his mother speaks up, saying, "Izuku... Don't move from your seat". This causes the boy to sit back on his chair promptly. He and his mother had a lot of arguments, so hearing her tone was all Izuku needed to know that she means business. Inko promptly takes the seat right in front of Izuku and the boy couldn't help but feel a sense of deja-vu.
"Mom, I-" Izuku starts but Inko cuts him off by saying, "Izuku, what was that!? Why did you jump in!?"
"Mom, my-" Izuku starts once again but Inko cuts him off one more time, saying, "There were heroes over there! They were doing just fine! Then why did you jump in!?"
"I-", Izuku starts but Inko fails to notice the growing tone of annoyance and she cuts him off once again, saying, "Do you have any idea how worried I was!? Do you have any idea what could have happened!? Why did-"
"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WILL YOU LET ME SPEAK!" Izuku roars and Inko's voice dies down in her throat, eyes widened at how her son roared. The green haired boy, realizing what he did, starts to massage the bridge between his eyes and he mumbles, "I'm sorry Mom. I shouldn't have raised my voice. My legs moved on their own. I... I'm just having a rough day".
"What do you mean by your legs moving on their own?" Inko asks, opting to ignore his last comment for now. Izuku wouldn't lie, but he was definitely hurt when his mother decided to totally ignore his last comment and decide to press on regarding what had happened. His right leg starts to shake due to nervousness and he replies, "I-I don't know, Mom... One moment I see Katsuki and the next second, I just find myself running..."
"Do you have any idea about the consequences of your stunt!? Your face is all over the news! Every news outlet is talking about you! Do you have any idea what they are calling you!? A maniac with a death wish! Not only that, this has gone down on your record!" Inko lays it into him and Izuku couldn't help but retort, "Then what am I supposed to do!? Let him die!?"
