Ren's Pleasure

Chapter Two

Clyde.

            "What? What did you just said?"

            I can see how Korina lowered her head and almost on the binge of crying. We are currently in a restaurant for an intimate dinner and discussing where to buy her wedding dress.

            "Can you repeat what did you just said?" I try to stay calm. She looks so fragile this time. It's my first time to see Korina be this emotional since we started being in a relationship.

            Korina and I have been in a relationship for two years. And just last month, I asked her to marry me and she said 'yes.' Korina is the first girl that I took seriously in a relationship. She's kind-hearted with a very warm personality and what's more, she's a marrying-type of woman that I am looking for.

            Until just know, for our two-year relationship, she just blurted something that will surely change the way we love each other.

            "I-I've been seeing a man for two months already, Clyde. I don't think I can m-marry you anymore..."

            "W-What? How did this happen?" I am still trying to be calm as much as possible to avoid any scenes in the restaurant.

            "I met this guy three months ago in a bar. That time when I and my friends went to have a bar-hopping. Then I saw this guy... And after a month we decided to have a relationship..."

            "So you mean, you've been cheating me for almost two months?" I can't help to raise my voice a bit.

            Korina cried. "I-I'm sorry Clyde..."

            "What the hell," I brushed my hair with my hands in exasperation. "Did you ever love me?"

            "O-Of course!" she looked at me. "I did, Clyde. I-It's just that... I think this guy is what I am actually looking for."

            I looked at her for a long time. "What's with this man, Korina? What does he have that I don't have?"

            "C-Clyde..."

            "Answer me."

            "He has time for me Clyde," she sobbed. "I-Ikaw, you all know is about your business. Your business is kept on growing and you didn't realize that you are leaving me behind already. Ni hindi na tayo nagiging intimate sa isa't-isa lately unlike before."

            "I thought you understand my situation already, Korina? We've been discussing this lot of times already. I didn't leave you behind. In fact, I was preparing for our grand day. I am excited about it. But you... you didn't understand me well. Why do you need to cheat? I am making all the possible things just to be with you, marry you and have a family with you." I sighed heavily. "So you want to call this quits?"

            She didn't respond.

            "I am waiting for your answer, Korina. You know I hate liars. I hate cheaters. I've been loyal to you for the years we've been together. But in exchange, you did this to me?"

            "L-Let's end this, Clyde. I-I don't want this kind of relationship anymore. Soon enough, you'll understand what I'm trying to prove."

            I called the waiter to get our bill. She just hurt my ego. And what's more, that two-year relationship has been wasted.

            "I'll send you home."
